Has anyone been over the mountain road lately. Planning a short trip in Nov. for our anniversary. 2 day's in Ochi, Silver Sea's ,and on to negril for a short 2 days at the Castle. We took it 25 years ago and would like any info on it now. Wayyy to short. Must go back in Feb.

If time is important....
The coast road between Mobay and Ochie was redone a few years back. Maybe only 3 hours between Ochie and Negril if you don't stop and depending on traffic.
Don't know the mountain road between Ochie and Negril, does it come out near Sav La Mar? Only been on the one from Mo Bay to Negril, but that was 10+ years ago.

Drove it in my rental car on July...Potholes yes-plenty-but still lovely drive if your up for it...(better if someone else drives-that way you can enjoy the views)

Saw Brad & wife at a Campbell's pool party a couple weeks ago.
Assuming Ochi is Ocho Rios and not Little Ochi (I think I remember your wedding trip story) here are a couple we have done in the last few years.
Marcy wanted to see dolphins, my payoff I got to drive up and over. Cut B3 out of Runway Bay hooked over towards Christiana at Cave Vally (there is a way around Christiana through Spalding) then down to Mandeville and A2 to Negril. Pretty good road all and all except for Spalding cut off, pretty country and of course Spur Tree, Bamboo Avenue (we did that soup kitchen at the west end of Bamboo Avenue a couple years ago and it was pretty cool), shrimp at Middle Quarters, fish at Border/Scotts Cove.

Now 2 years ago I took (did this in reverse) B10 out of Duncans up through Barbeque Bottom around Alberts Town through Warsop down through Auchtembeddie to Union the B6 across past Appleton to Maggoty and down to A2 at Lacovia. Add above's Bamboo, Middle Qurter, etc.... Now you know me and you know I like curvy, that is one of the curviest I have ever seen and up and down and up and down, it is where Bolt is from, cool road. You are skirting the Cockpit Country.

Thanks for the info. My god! It couldn't be any worse then it was 25 years ago with no signs to help you LOL and it was the most fantastic adventure we had been on . Sooo pretty, sometimes quite scary when you would meet a
RedStripe beer truck with only enough room for 1 1/2 of us LOL Huging the mountain side. . And yes, someone else will be driveing besides me. :-) I will enjoy the view for sure. Not quite as brave as I was back then too, but we made it.
