Wonderful tribute to Jamaica tonight on the CBC National News.
Longtime T.V. anchor Dwight Drummond (who co-hosts the CBC Toronto evening news) did a 20 minute feature on Independence and Canada's 230 thousand Jamaican Canadians who make our culture so rich and diverse.
Mr. Drummond is originally from Jamaica.
It was a beautiful broadcast and I'm sure folks on the island who have CBC on cable were proud to see it.
Brought a tear to my eye anyway.

That's pretty cool. I can't imagine the party they are having right now. The fastest man and woman and Jamaican July 4th. It's got to be a great time.

When I went grocery shopping this morning, I was amazed at just how many Jamaicans and "wanna be Jamaicans" were wearing the colors of the Jamaican Flag and a few, of course, Bolt Jerseys! :D
Now that I live in Jamaica for much of the year, this showing of National Pride actually brought a tear to my eye. Few, if any, people from other countries seem to have that spirit (and show it) when a National Holiday in their native country is happening. I am proud to be a transplanted Jamaican!
Big Up to Jamaica, Her People and long may Her spirit continue.

I just returned Friday and have my Jamaica 50th w/peace sign t shirt on today! We arrived Monday morning and had never seen the airport that busy and the streets. A lot of Jamaican pride being displayed.
