Cheap places to stay in the cliffs
I am looking for a reasonable place to stay in the cliffs for the last 4 days of our trip in April. Preferably with a pool and AC-if room is on the other side of the road.
So as of right now a group of 4 us are leaning towards Xtabi and staying in their Standard Superior Rooms. These are on the Garden side (Across the street) w/AC.
Only other place I have stayed in the cliffs was at the Rock House about 7 & 10 years ago.
Any other suggestions.

Xtabi would be an excellent choice!
Also look into Catcha Falling Star Gardens (they have a couple of rooms with a/c and others with fans only)
And of course Seastar Inn
Re: Cheap places to stay in the cliffs
I agree that Catcha Falling Star Gardens (which is right across from the LTU Pub/restaurant and a stones throw to Ricks Cafe) is a great place with nice rooms and great pool).
Also check out Banana Shout - on the cliff side with ocean views http://www.bananashoutresort.com/reservation.php

How about Seastar Inn? Great place with a homey feel.

concur on SeaStar Inn, Blue Cave Castle, Catcha Gardens and Xtabi........
Oasis, Home Sweet Home and Mirage are good choices too......
personally I'd go with whoever gives you the best rate...so don't be afraid to ask
some places are getting a likkle pricey on the Cliffs these days....
use to be able to get rooms all day long for $50 or less but not anymore.....
Cool Runnings, Marko
Re: Cheap places to stay in the cliffs
All of the above suggestions are right on! The only two that I have not stayed in HSH and Oasis. With that said, I would highly recommend Catcha Gardens. Xtabi standard rooms are much smaller and a little more dated. However, they do have a great area to snorkel with easy access. That is a plus. They also have a great bar and restaurant. But Catcha Gardens rooms are larger with small refrig. (big plus) and the rooms are very well kept...with a new pool that is really perfection! LTU is right across the street with one gorgeous view as well as the gorgeous view at Xtabi. You really can't go wrong either way. Seastar is also in the mix, a little further from the water and the prices have increased somewhat but still a great place. Enjoy your trip and tell us all about it. The cliffs are perfection in my opinion...:)

CFSGardens rocks!! Love the pool area. Enjoy where ever you stay....
Re: Cheap places to stay in the cliffs
I guess it depends on how cheap you want to go. You can find places for $50 a night, but they will be a little more rustic and without all the amenities.
IMO, the best value on the cliffs is Home Sweet Home. For $85 a night you get cliffside rooms with A/C, free wifi, pool/hot tub, restaurant/bar, and a great property with sun decks on the cliffs. The staff is great, too.
