important...need someone to carry small package to u.s.

i am in negril and need a very small package (but important as it is health related and will explain in depth to any response) to be taken to the u.s. and mailed to my daughter.

Why can't you post this parcel to the US? It will have to go through the US Mail anyway, won't it?

i dont trust the mail system in jamaica for anything. im still hoping i can find someone to carry it to the u.s. and then cert mail or fedex.

Then why not FedEx from JA? Or DHL? Or UPS? And what medicinal value product do you need to send that cannot be obtained in the US?

Janie. The "back story" behind the reluctance to bring a "very small package" out of Jamaica is understandable. After all, a lot of smuggling of drugs etc. has been done this way before. I know you are not doing this but when you add "health related" to the picture I envision being searched at the airport and being asked about prescriptions that are not in my name.

i should have included more information in my message as i think people were thinking all kinds of things! (: i needed someone to take my hearing aid to the u.s. and mail it to my clinic. i didnt want to send fedex from ja because it can be a hassle and hearing aids are very expensive. i DID find someone to help me that is leaving ja on saturday. thanks to all who responded!

so glad you found someone to take your aid back for you for repairs janie. Did you try Kingston or MoBay for possible repairs so that you wouldn't be without for awhile?

hi likkle red! before i moved here i checked out the hrg aid situation in both montego bay and kingston. they do not sell or service my brand even though they are a very popular brand in the u.s. i do have a spare so hopefully i will get it back in good shape before the spare gives out. i think hrg aids really take a beating in jamaica with the humidity, etc. thanks for asking though!
