Info needed on local George "Nicholas" Samon

I met Nicholas in 2001 at the Office of Nature. A young man in his early twenties, we conversed several times over the 8 days I was there. He even taught me the "Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect" handshake.
I shot some great video of him dancing on the rocks, spear fishing and teaching me the handshake.
I learned last year that he was tragically killed when hit by a bus. Don't know the details or even what year it happened.
I am putting the video clips I have together as a small memorial as it will surely bring a smile to anyone who knew him.
Do any of you locals remember him and can you perhaps share some more info on him?
