Hows the Golf at Negril Hill's. Any tips?
Hi everyone, the countdown is on for us and I am looking forward to getting a couple of rounds of golf in while in Negril. I have a travel case and can bring the clubs for an additional 20 bucks , so don't have to rent clubs. Any other tips, ideas of cost. I have golfed in Ochi, and in Runaway bay in the past so have an idea of what to expect just would love an idea of cost, is there and deals on certain days, caddies to get or not get. Thanks for the info folks.
Cheers

yes u must hire a caddy for 2 golfers. seeing u brought your own clubs it would be around $90 for 18 holes with a shared cart. far as i know that is the cheapest golf on di rock

I played NH two years ago; it is a nice, hilly course, although not 'championship'. Should you choose to travel light, they have calloway x20 & Berthas for rent. stock up on beverages before the round!

I have played it several times, but not for the last 2 years so I don't know current conditions.
When I have played it I liked the lay out. Short but hilly, do not even think of walking, several of the greens had wicked slope, as well as small & tight, some undulating, a couple I remember the slope being such that it was tricky to get the ball to sit, a couple roll backs for sure. Last time I played greens were very fast, but I have heard not so much any longer.
Caddie is mandatory, small fee plus tip. I have used Janet for a caddie the last 4 times I have played there, she has been there for years and probably still is. She knew the greens like the back of her hand, great advice on a couple of blind tee shots and a definite ball hawk. She was fun to talk to during the round.
Be warned that it is hot out there like no other course I've played on, nother reason not to try walking, buy gatorade at the club house, sometimes the cart girl and water is no where to be found, also probably didn't help on my part to be hung over a few of my rounds. The sun there is so much more intense it is definitely a factor to consider and not take lightly.
Last time I played I was in for about $160 but I also bought a nice shirt. I am sure the pricing is different now but mine was something like $55 for 18, $15 mandatory caddie fee plus $20 caddie tip, $32 for the cart $10 for drinks, $30 for a shirt. I bring my ping's if I am going to play.
Hope this helps,
Jamb
