The jet skis seem to be much quieter this year. Anybody else notice? Maybe it's my hearing and not the mufflers.

Speculation only but it might be 4 stroke engines. If that's true, the coral reefs will breathe a sigh of relief.
I about got run over today snorkeling the reef in front of 3 Dives. I pop up and one of the 3 jack wagons asks me if I see anything good. Unbelievable.....
Ja-media reports that the Jamaican government powers that be have been clamping down on illegal jet ski operators, after numerous complaints from Negril '..stakeholders..'

Mr Smith's reporting was confirmed to me by several beach vendors last month. There seemed to be a lot less jet ski traffic and most operators were wearing
a lanyard with a license.
I also saw a couple of police jet skis run down the beach one day, first time to see those.
It's true!!!
We were there 3 weeks ago and noticed a LOT less jet ski traffic.
I don't mind if they ask you, as long as they don't mind if I say "no thanks mon", However......
I used to hate it when we'd be swimming, and they would stop out on the water every 5 minutes and hassle us every day.
There was NONE of that this trip! It was a LOT more peaceful out on the floatie.
Less jet skis, nice!
Thank goodness and the powers that be! Was getting seriously fed up with them too.
This is good news! They should be totally banned from the beach area, they're noisy, obtrusive and bad for the environment
