I do not drink rum (the smell literally turns my stomach, probably due to an errant rum drinking experience when I was a young teenager). I have asked quite a few bartenders for a drink simaliar to a dirty banana, to no avail ... so I usually wind up drinking TiaMaria on the rocks or with milk or a soft drink.
Any suggestions or recipes??
Not to many island drinks made without rum. You could always drink margaritas.
Not sure if you are asking specifically for frozen drinks or not but I grew rather fond of the Apple vodka and tings after another boardie Breanna mentioned them in one of her reports
On the last trip I discovered a new version of them which I have to say I enjoyed quite a bit
It was Apple vodka, ting and a splash of grenadine.....quite refreshing!
Purple Rain is a tasty vodka based drink that most bartenders know how to make.

Most bars will make you a blended drink with just about any fresh fruit you can think of...just have them add some vodka. :-)
Am I missing something here? Why not simply substitute vodka for the rum?
How well would the Dirty Banana work with Whiskey and a little corn syrup? Or there is the Tequila Sunrise option.
