Peppa Shrimps
Stopped at a road side market for these the last time we went on the Appleton Estates tour. Does anyone know about how far away they are from Sea Star Inn or how much it may cost by cab. I am a bit of a foodie and I have to admit these little spicy little devils were better than any crayfish I have ever had in the states including NOLA. My wife and I may be interested in taking a little trip out to middle quarters and trying to find them again some time nearly next week. I am wanting to get some photos for travel log and enjoy lunch! Any information would be very much appreciated. Also if anyone else is interested in joining us and splitting cost, if you like to eat I promise it is worth every doller! Thanks and Cheers- Mike

Re: Peppa Shrimps
I had these along the road on a trip somewhere near YS Falls. There was also place near the shrimp lady called Howie's. If you are a foodie you would have two great experiences in that area. I am sure the driver at Seastar will know the places.
I've read that they have Peppa Shrimp at Kuyaba also.

Re: Peppa Shrimps
I admit I love them too...but since they're really crayfish & NOT shrimp...I find it's a lot of work for not a lot of meat...that's me. Remember..don't touch any place on your body that don't want on fire!!

We did YS falls and Appleton the same day so maybe it was closer to the falls I can not remember for sure. It was awesome though... My wife and I ate two bags...Attachment 25270Attachment 25271Attachment 25272

Re: Peppa Shrimps
It's definitely closer to the falls, so not at all close to Negril, however I love them too and agree it is worth the trip
If you stop at the sisters see if they have a pot of their peppa shrimp soup....OMG that was the best thing I have ever tasted
But while in Negril, Pushcart Restaurant (at the Rockhouse) also has Peppa Shrimp on their menu and they are pretty good too! (And BIG)

Re: Peppa Shrimps
The name of the community is "Middle Quarters" just before you get to Holland Bamboo ("Bamboo Avenue") on the main road.
It was where the British Troups were quartered during the Maroon Wars. I live in Accompong Town just a few miles from there where most of the fighting took place.
