Someone told me that this was possible as long as you know the phone carrier. If anyone knows the answer, could you either post or pm me??
Thanks in advance.

If it is Digicel try XXXXXXX@digitextjm.com from computer no area code needed
Thanks Angel! Gonna find out if the carrier is Digicel or Lime...but I'm pretty sure it is digicel. Respect!!
Captain....thanks for the links you sent!
Tried it and it didn't work for me.
I installed textme2 on my iPhone and that works great. Totally free. It gives a local (to you) phone # that people can call or text you on through the app.
Don't put anything in subject line when you write message then want to send hit send not cancel
you can text to a Lime cellie via the Lime Web Site if you have an active Lime Sim or Account...........
Cool Runnings, Marko
Thanks Marko! I don't have a Lime phone or an account...but I am getting ready to try Angel's suggestion as soon as I verify carrier. Respect to all for your helpful suggestions.
Yetta please let us know if it works for you thru gmail. Mine to digicel were returned (eventually), notifying it was unsuccessful.
I tried to text to my friend who has Digicel and it didn't work. I didn't put anything in the subject line and entered their phone number XXXXXX@digitextjm.com and only said to reply if they got it. They didn't. Maybe I should include the area code if sending from the U. S.? And possibly the 1 access code?
OK, just sent a message using the digitextjm.....No error yet. We will see.... Truly appreciate all the suggestions. I don't own an iphone, my cell is actually fairly generic. I use my computer and tablet much more. Hope this works. I am able to receive texts from JA....but I can't send them on my lame ass phone. Hope this works. I tried it without an area code. I'll let you know if I hear back.
