I know there is no A/c in Cottages 1or 4, We are looking at Feb. Is that an issue then? I have asthma and am concerned about it. Does anyone know if there is a toaster, microwave in any of the rooms?

No fridge, toaster nor microwave. No coffeemaker. No a/c in the cottages. You need to know your own comfort zone when it comes to temperature and humidity. Nobody can predict what the weather will be in February of 2014. You can make some generalizations, but you can't make an accurate prediction. You could research some historic meteo data for February and try to discern the average low temperature and humidity for the time you will be there....I suppose.....
That said, those cottages are in high demand that time of the year...a/c or no....just sayin...
Oh....and I need a/c year round in Negril....but that is just moi....
We always stay in cottage # 4 in April, and have done so for the last 5 years. We have not found the need for A/C at all as there is enough breeze off the ocean to keep the air moving at night, and during the day for that matter. We open the front patio doors and the back shower door, and there is enough breeze to blow things off the table! There is a new fan above the bed, and in fact some nights i was cool. Not an issue.
Outside, the patio gets HOT, there is no shade during the day, unless you drag the table and chairs around the back, which we sometimes do. Cottage #4 also has a hotplate, kettle, fridge, toaster, coffemaker and dishes. It's really a great set up. Cottage # 1 is pretty much the same as far as amenities, although it is a smaller deck and access to the sea is a little harder. Between the two, cottage #4 is a hands down better choice.
We stayed in #1 last August,we loved it,it was arguably one of our favorite trips, with or without ac,waking up every morning and the first thing you see is the ocean!im in #5 in July and can't wait!
mi would say most people during the month of Jan on the Cliffs wouldn't need A/C in those cottages......
but Feb you could tell the difference that is was warmer a lot days on da Cliffs as compared to Jan.....
good breezes and some days wi had some really big gusts hitting us in Feb on da Cliffs........
but if you really need it cool at night to sleep in Feb.....mi would say stay away from the cottages
you always need A/C on the beach all year round........no way around it......
mi don't have A/C in the apt and mi made it thru the winter fine on the cliffs.........
but mi will let everyone know how mi make out this summer........lmao
Cool Runnings, Marko
Sitting in cottage # 3 right now and it has a refrigerator and we ask for and received a coffee maker no A/C. It is hot at night and mosquitoes are bad so kinda hard to leave doors open. I think #1 and #4 would get a better breeze because they sit out further on the cliff. Plus side of things, great snorkeling and staff.
