Wild Thing Sunset/Dinner Cruise
I am going to start this by saying that I love Negril... LOVE Negril... I feel more like myself there than I do here in Houston, Texas........
I have always loved the whole experience, the good, the unexpected, even the disappointing... because you see I realize that things
are not always going to be perfect, but I am a laid back guy and I take it easy and roll with it while in Ja.
But this one thing has always bothered me.... back in December 2012 my trip was with family, mother and brother... first time to
Ja for both... everything about the trip was great, it blew their minds and I love to introduce Negril to new people.... and the three of
us had never had a trip like this ever before....... we booked a trip one afternoon on the Wild Thing for the sunset/dinner cruise.....
The ride out was delayed... no problem... drinks flowed on the way to the reef for snorkeling, awesome experience... BUT
then they gave us "dinner"... ONE slice of cold pizza.... because of the price each we each paid.... shocked... could they really be
giving us one slice of cold, half decent pizza and call it dinner? with no offer of even a second slice.......
The rest of trip was again, awesome.... went by Rick's... me and my bro leaped off the big cliff... return trip we drank and enjoyed the
cliffs from the seas perspective.... back at docks... back to the beach paradise......
The only reason that I posted this was the "dinner" listed on the cruise is not what I would call dinner, especially while in Negril, JA....
and I should mention that my mother is a 70 years old diabetic and lack of food consumption can be an issue on occasion, thankfully
this was not an issue that day.....
This post is for any future travelers as a warning..... I know there are other boats and don't get me wrong, me and my family loved the
rest of the cruise.... but if you book the dinner/sunset cruise, be sure to ask what dinner consists of...
As always... I LOVE Negril, I LOVE Jamaica.... enjoy, roll with the experience... but a little info sometimes goes a long way.....

Re: Wild Thing Sunset/Dinner Cruise
Scott, we have been on wild thing several times in the recent past (before it was sold to the Riu) and I never remember them offering a dinner cruise...I believe they had a day cruise to Half Moon beach (lunch included) and a sunset cruise with drinks and snacks included (pizza or sometimes patties) never had dinner though...just sayin...anyway, can't book a trip anymore on wild thing unless you stay a the Riu.
Re: Wild Thing Sunset/Dinner Cruise
A few years back we took the Red Stripe "lunch" cruise. All the rum and punch you can drink and the meal was Jerk chicken, rice, and beans served piping hot. Very good at a reasonable price. We cruised south past Ricks, got off the boat for a swim thru a cave before heading back. I highly recomend it and plan to do it again one of these years.
Re: Wild Thing Sunset/Dinner Cruise
That was the way that it was presented when I paid for the three of us.... the word dinner was actually spoken... but like I said.... it all turned out alright and
was just a small bump in an otherwise amazing as always vacation in Negril (and the only concern was for my mother's health, me and my bro were drinking
alot more than we worried about the meal)... so no more Wild Thing huh?... I'm glad that I had a chance to go because the captain and all the staff on the boat
were more than friendly and great to talk and hang with.... great drinks, great people, great boat trip.... hope Riu appreciates what they have
