Unable to log into Real Negril chat :( "any techs out there?"

Hello- deedee from NY here, I got this new lap top with windows 8, I tried to log on to Real Negril's webcast chat last night but my computer would not let me due to my computers security settings..:confused: Anyone know what to do? Thanks for any info :)
2 more weeks until hubby and I are at Hideawhile..woohoo!!!!

Do you have the latest version of the Java software downloaded to your new laptop? You can get it, free, at the following link.

DeeDee...you did manage to get into chat last night...we saw your name...but not sure what happened after that. Hopefully it all works out for tomorrow night...cya then! :

Anyone having issues getting into chat for the webcasts needs to be certain they have installed the latest version of Java. And, since Java is so fooking wonderful.....you need to look for previous versions and manually unistall them. Why it doesn't uninstall previous versions when installing a new version is beyond me....software design at its finest, eh?

I know- I did download the latest Java, we'll see what happens tonight :) ;)

Deanna - did you ever get this thing figured out? I have tried for weeks and can't get into chat. Stupid Windows 8!!! I get a message that the java I downloaded is corrupt and nothing I do will change it! I downloaded it from java.com...................this tech stuff makes me crazy!

Try downloading it again from the Desktop. I have noticed some odd downloading and installing issues with Win8, but it seems to work if you keep trying it.
