Sunday nite supper - a must is rice & peas with coconut milk, share it along with your favorite 'meat' and you're having a traditional Jamaican meal :)

Your right though, too much white rice can be part of the reason a lot of Jamaicans are diabetic. BUT.... you can easily substitute white rice for bread/whole grain rice and if you eat it only 1-2 times a week there is no way that could cause it :)
Eating a lot of fried foods can also be attributed to being diabetic as well.... not to mention sugar, sugar, sugar.... ha ha!
