tourists seeing any problems with the water?

I have some friends goind down for the first time - a couple and a single guy - staying at Grand Pineapple from Sat-Sat July 6-13.
The couple has been to Mexico a couple times, and so were wary of the water in Jamaica.
I told them not only is the water safe to drink in Negril, it tastes good too - no need to buy bottled.

But then I remembered, a couple months ago my fiancee said in her neighborhood in Red Ground, the public water was off and had been for quite some time.
By that I mean the water spigots out in public they use to carry water in buckets to the house - they don't have a water connection.
With the spigots off, they have to get it trucked in to fill her tank. She said they were told there was a problem at the water treatment facility.

I'm pretty sure Grand Pineapple and other big hotels have it covered, and probably the big restaurants, too.
But I've been talking up the little restaurants to my friends, for their visit - like Sharks on the West End - and wonder how small places are dealing.
My fiance doesn't know about the water situation at small places like that.

Anyone have more info I can pass along to my friends?

Nevermind. The fiancee called before going to bed and I remembered to ask her.
She said the water came on in her neighborhood about 10 days ago.
Were told it had been a pump problem at the water plant.
