For pet lovers, some interesting news!
"People travelling with their pets is a growing phenomenon now in the world of travel. People are travelling with their pets more," Lynch said.
When asked what he thought Jamaica's tourism industry would be like with freer pet laws, Lynch said "people would come, you'd be attracting a new market".

My main concern is the actual flying I don't want to make him uncomfortable at all... tho I'm sure he'd love it soo much.
How do others feel about this? Do you think it's a good idea just in general?

Cute dog Beebeluv. Wouldn't personally want a dog/cat or any animal to have to go through what we do to get there. They would be in the cargo hold if it is a big dog. No nonstops from Cali. And hope that the animals going in would be spayed/neutered don't want surprises when they return home. If someone was going to live there and bring a pet may be different.

There is no way I could get my 135 lb dog onto the plane, much less a car haha!

JA has no rabies and that's something you don't want to jeopardize. It could wreak havoc on a small island. It might not be a wise long term strategy to loosen restrictions too much.

Exactly!
Re: For pet lovers, some interesting news!
I agree that from Cali its a no go but if i lived in south Florida I'd consider it. And I didn't think of little dogs. don't get me wrong I have little dogs too but they aren't really a smart choice for a vacation trip. Just my personal opinion. My little dogs definitely have less stable personalities. I find this to be with most small breeds. the get little mans syndrome...lol

All I could think of was what a stupid idea. Now before I get jumped on, I've had both cats and a dog but would never even think of taking them to Jamaica. Yes, it is a pain to find boarding but as a responsible pet owner it is your job to do this. When I went on vacation I always boarded my pets - no second thought at all. The trip is for you and not your pets.
