Staff gifts for the ladies -- would like a JA female perspective
I take gifts down for a few of the staff at Tensing. Mostly bought shirts for the guys, Hillfiger and Polo tend to go ver very well. I picked up a half dozen wristlets and cross body bags for Coach today, and now I am second guessing myself... I generally don't see jamaican women with handbags... should i get something else (these are staff gifts, not the tips). My wife thinks I should know their taste in bags before buying them... And she is probably right.

I'm not JA but I take hand bags for the girls, fun with bling and some for more practical use. Clothes sometimes, only new or very gently used though!

I am more worried about getting something they would not like, as opposed to practicality. My wife buys what I consider to be the most godawful handbags ever, but she insists they are fashionable. Heck with it... It is a gift and given with good intentions... If they don't like it, they can regift it, right? :)

Trust me....they will love the handbags...especially since theyre name brand. Jamaicans love name brand items.

Last year I brought all 3 of the Fifty Shades books for the ladies to read and pass around. I will be curious to see how they liked them :) I think the wristlets are a great idea and will probably bring some this year.

Regarding the handbags, they will love whatever you gift. I use to fret over styles and colors, but not anymore. Whatever I give is always appreciated. In some of the bags, I include a small change purse or wallet. I slip a phone credit slip or 500J inside the wallet. They seem to like medium to small size purses since most don't carry a lot in them like we do here.

You are buying Coach brand bags for the staff?? Real Coach?? Even the cross body bags are close to $100 bucks a pop.
I was going to suggest some Bath & Body works stuff!

We have the coach outlet close by, and they had a sale the last couple of weekends. The cross body bags I bought were marked at $189 each, got them for $60 a pop, got a little bag for $30 on clearance, and the wrist thingys were $25 each. I thought it was pretty cheap. One of the ladies getting the actual bag saved $600 I had put down as a deposit on a room for a friend that decided he was not coming with us (they have a 50% refund policy after x number of days... i had paid for the room)and got me a pedestal fan our first year there (I cannot sleep without a fan blowing in me), not to mention all the little things she has done for us over the course of a few trips. I know it's her job, but she seems to go the extra mile...
