Craving some jerk chicken...heck, I would eat jerk cardboard about now...
And the crap I made this weekend was NOT a substitute. Tried it on the grill, it was rubbish. Bought some frozen patties from the supermarket, they were not terrible, but certainly not great.
Stopped in a little jamaican place this afternoon...it's in west Philly, they were serving cheesesteaks, really? They had oxtail soup on the menu, but I am not really a fan of that dish, did get a decent chicken patty, but is suspect it was the frozen kind as well.
Only a few more weeks. One would think after all the trips I would have some inkling of how to prepare a few of the dishes I like, but it always comes out poorly. Maybe this year I can find a nice local person to teach me to cook in a day... And then I will promptly sprout wings and fly about the west end :) I bought a half dozen bottles of jerk sauce from Francine last year, it is delicious on eggs, but I've ruined everything else I tried to make with it.

No, but thanks, flip... I am down that way at least twice a week. I rarely go on south street, but will give it a shot on Friday... I have an appointment at society hill towers, and that's a hop and a skip away.

We went to the Spice Island Grill in Colorado Springs 2 weeks ago..it was really great. I had their Jerk Chicken, and my better half had the Jerk Pork. We got some Coco Bread to take home..and the punches were great there too.

There will never be jerk chicken in Los Angeles as good as the roadside grills in Negril.
In California, I sometimes order Jerk Chicken just a for a laugh. The dead giveaway is the white sauce, lol.

Hussy, have you tried the Walkerwood jerk sauce? You can buy it at Wegman's in Collegeville.

Bob
