What's happening Independence Day?

I was wondering if anything special is going on August 6th or that week for Jamaican Independence Day?I got friends going down to Mobay and Negril.

a lot of Jamaicans and a lot of parties the first week in August..........as you probably know shooter
July 29th to August 1st is ATI......."A.T.I. Weekend Is Like Summer Break On Steroids"
from about July 27th to August 7th Negril will be very busy........
and the Negril population will at least triple.......
having been der when ATI started.......
residents will need good luck getting wata from da pipe during dat time.......
the beach road can turn into a parking lot for sur...........
leave yourself plenty of time to get around then.......

I was ther last year but stayed up in the westend the whole ATI weekend, and stayed out of trouble, for the most part. This year I arrive on saturday and hope to avoid trouble too.lol
