Unbelievable

We have 10 days booked at Treehouse for Mar. 20-30 . Been watching for airline tickets for about three months.Checking multiple airports, Chicago-St. Louis- Minneapolis- Des Moines- Moline-and our twenty minute drive away,Cedar Rapids.All tickets are considerable higher than the last few years, the board has brought this up. Figured it would run about 850 to fly out of our local airport and maybe around 725 to drive to a larger hub. Decided to pull the pin and fly local for the convenience. Now when buying tickets -- up POPS 'fly first class for 52 dollars more' ! Thought wtf but, entered that option and completed the transaction. We are confirmed first class CR to ATL TO MBJ and back . For 13 dollars per flight I'm positive we can drink more complimentry beverages than what the upgrade cost. After riding Greyhound in back several years we can appreciate sitting in the lazyboys. When I'm done with my warm wet towel, I can throw it back into coach ,if you like :)Seriously, check search engines twice a day. Erase cookies and vary what days you search. Wed/Thur. is consistantly the best booking days. Whatch seating availability to gage how full your flight is.We have been happy with Kayak to get dialed in but, ultimately the carrier prices the tickets. See you in march Gail

Jimbo, is there a setting on TA that has them send these prices to you?

Never mind. I found it under the "Subscriptions" section in the profile set up.

I have upgraded to 1st class on Continental a few times.They will not talk about it on the phone or in print but after midnight of the day of your flight they will sell you an upgrade for $100PP. Sometimes you have to do it at the airport?
