Fundraiser for St. Anthony's Kitchen in MN~~Concert by Int'l Reggae All Stars!

Turtle's Bar & Grill in Shakopee, MN will be holding its 1st Annual Fundraiser for St. Anthony's Kitchen, a wonderful place which has been providing meals for the hungry in Negril since 2010. The soup kitchen run by Father Jim serves hundreds of meals a week and is supported primarily from donations.

We have hired the best Reggae band in the Midwest, The International Reggae All Stars to perform. The last 1/2 of the show will be a Bob Marley tribute as the event, which takes place 1/24/14, is about 2 weeks before Bob's birthday. There will be a silent auction and donations will be accepted at the door (min $10). All monies will go directly to St. Anthony's Kitchen to help Father Jim and his crew continue helping folks in Negril.

Date: Friday, January 24th, 2014
Time: Doors open at 7, Silent Auction 7-9, Show starts at 8:30
Cost: Minimum $10 donation accepted at the door

Awesome!

Awesome indeed! Thanks to Bryan and Lisa and everyone at Turtle's Bar & Grill! What a wonderful thing to do for St. Anthony's Kitchen. I'm heading to Cincinnati for a meeting in early December and will carry a few gifts from Negril for the silent auction. Look for something in the mail. The fundraiser is this Friday 1/24. Doors open at 7, silent auction 7-9 and then it's a Bob Marley tribute show by the incredible International Reggae All Stars starting at 9! Lead guitar and band leader Jahbee is from Ocho Rios and Kingston native Lynval "Golden Voice" Jackson is one of the best vocalists I've ever heard! They are very excited to perform this show, in which all proceeds will go to Fr. Jim to help fund St. Anthony's kitchen and the wonderful work they do there feeding the hungry of Negril and helping to send kids to school.

If you're near Mpls/St. Paul please consider joining us for this awesome event! There are some really cool silent auction items like Red Stripe umbrellas, Bob Marley prints, etc. Suggested donation for entry is only $10. Come hang with the Shakopee Negril crew......It's gonna be IRIE!

Dear Bryan and Lisa, thanks for doing this for St. Antony's Kitchen. We are totally dependent on the generosity and kindness of others. We feed more than hungry bellies at the Kitchen. We are assisting parents of 45 children to get them to school. Nine of them had perfect attendance in the first term. I promised a new bicycle to anyone with perfect attendance. The good news is that I nine kids had perfect attendance. The bad news is I had to buy nine bicycles. that the best bad news I've had in a long time. About 50 kids eat breakfast at the Kitchen on the way to school. We bus 20 of them to Mt. Airy All Age.
