Hi Everyone,
Mirage Hotel on the cliffs of Negril is launching a special promotion tomorrow. It will actually be available on the website Deal Chicken, not Groupon, but the voucher works exactly like one from Groupon. I'm working with Mirage on this promotion, so if you have any questions about the deal, please feel free to post it and I'll reply.
Thanks,
Rebecca

Hi Rasthai,
No, there are no black-out dates, it's only subject to availability. And availability shouldn't be a problem, because the voucher will be valid until June 1, 2014. There are plenty of rooms available between now and then.
Thanks for your question,
Rebecca
Re: Mirage Hotel 'Groupon' Launches Tomorrow
I am intrigued. I will have to look at the deal tomorrow. This could affect my winter travel plans.
Re: Mirage Hotel 'Groupon' Launches Tomorrow
Is that resort a clothing optional resort? Might influence people's decision one way or the other
Re: Mirage Hotel 'Groupon' Launches Tomorrow
Hi Mike_D,
The voucher will offer very big savings. And the rooms are large, with a coffee maker, fridge, AC, and balconies or patios facing the sea. It's also good to know that the family that owns the Mirage also owns Charela Inn, which is a well-run hotel with good reviews on Tripadvisor. So you can expect the same standards at Mirage.
Re: Mirage Hotel 'Groupon' Launches Tomorrow
Hi Butch,
To the best of my knowledge, it is not a clothing optional resort. However, because it isn't as crowded as other hotels, a few people might sunbathe topless. I sincerely hope that they do this discreetly and with consideration for others.
Thanks for your question,
Rebecca
Re: Mirage Hotel 'Groupon' Launches Tomorrow
Just checked out of Mirage yesterday and moved to the beach. Very nice room and covered balconies and pool, as well as Nadine, Mr. Newman and Bobby. Beside Tensing Pen. Wifi in room and balcony. Peaceful and quiet, no one bugging you. I believe its clothing optional, but there was only one other guest there and we both wore clothes! :) Bring a pool towel. Gorgeous sea view from every room. Nice continental breakfast. Treated very nicely at Charela as a Mirage guest. Store is a 5 minute walk and Ahbees and Sharks is closer yet. Walked to Sips n Bites (yum), Debar on the way.
It's just like their website, better actually. Nice foliage around the hotel and a large tree by the pool.
Re: Mirage Hotel 'Groupon' Launches Tomorrow
Negril One Stop describes it as clothing optional, but I haven't seen that description used too many other places (including the mirage web site). Like Melody, several other boardies have reported that the guests remained clothed during their stay. You might see the odd topless sunbather, but that is common at most resorts in Negril.
Re: Mirage Hotel 'Groupon' Launches Tomorrow
There was no one around the pool for the most part, except for Bobby sweeping around it in the morning. So people could go au natural around the pool with no one to see, if they wanted. As said, I didn't test it out, or even inquire. Safe to say, it's not for nudists. It's no Hedo that's for sure!
