what are your must pack items?

I always have my swim toys when I travel south (mask,fins,snorkel). I bought a pair of mini fins which work fine but take of way less space. Other things I have on my always list is a good headlamp with extra batteries, small pair of bino's. I have an issue with sunglasses (they seem to walk away) so only travel with cheapos unless I have serious fishing planned. I gave up trying to catch fish in Jamaica so the fishing gear will be staying home. But since I am going to Jamaica, will be picking up a new pair of small sharp scissors (if you have to ask, don't lol)

So what are your must have items?

Lately, have been leaving our snorkel equipment, an old school radio and the cooler with Jamaican friends. They are always in tip top shape when we return. Swimsuits, wraps, sandals, hat, sunglasses and my magnifiers. MUSIC, Kindle and generally some dresses and skirts for the holidays. I could go on forever, since I always overpack!!! All the stuff that women need seems to be never ending! :) I'm sure I'll be near the weight limit again this year. Always have an emergency pack with the essentials, cortisone cream, antibiotic ointment, course of antibiotics, medrol-pak, aleve, benadryl, sunscreen, lomotil and colace. Gotta be prepared, just in case....:) Plus, have to try and save some room for stuff for the canines in Jamaica!!

Sunglasses, sandals, various items of clothing, tunes, OTC medications, & cash...

Must haves: Bug spray, Sunscreen, Iphone with 9gb of reggae music, portable USB speaker, 10 cigars, smoking papers, Book.

I pack lite: Sunglasses, Sandals, 2 pairs of shorts, 2 swim suites, 1 polo shirt ( I wear the sandals, 1 shirt, 1 shorts on the plane, so the list above is cut in half), couple lighters, sun screen, 3 x 3 oz bottles of body wash, shampoo, conditioner. Sometimes I must take my laptop if I'm helping the resort with configuring wifi and stuff.

Lets not forget the bottle opener
it is a must have

Only must pack items are, swim trunks, sandals, eyeglasses, ticket, passport, and debit card...
Everything else is extra...

Here is what I "don't" pack,,,,,any and All electronic stuff,including phones....Kinda against the grain to walk down the Negril beach with all it's natural beauty and have a cell phone in your hand at all times.

We always save room in our bag for things to give away. We know that the gift of cash is always appreciated, but we like to also bring gifts for our maids and other staff where we stay, and this trip we have items for Father Jimaica and St. Anthony's. We have a lot of respect for the work they are doing and hope to help make their holidays a little brighter.

It's easier if I say what I don't pack..........the kitchen sink and the washing machine!.

I am a horrendous over packer, my (tomorrow he will be) husband, he did say after my tenth pack unpack scenario that, "Sara! you have waaaaaaaay, too much stuff," to which I obviously replied, "no, babe, I need everything, honest!". When it came to unpacking I had a quiet moment too myself thinking, "what the bleeping heck was I thinking packing all this crap?". My case alone weighed 24.9kgs (that didn't include my dress or hand luggage or the extra bag we brought filled with a beautician, pharmacy and half a supermarket!".

However, I always remember my passport and tickets ;)

It's HOT HOT HOT today - loving sunny Negril more and more by the day x

Duct tape, multi tool, ziplock bags, lighter, bug spray, sunscreen.

Other than the needed clothes... Sun glasses,hat,3m hooks,sun screen,assorted kitchen items and a large insulated sports bottle for Margaritas(mixed in room) we also leave a cooler with lots of other stuff,so no need to pack that!

And a backpack.

My husband ... shorts/tshirts ... underwear ... flip flops ... swimsuits ... toothbrush ... camera! Good to go! Oh and a cooler!

Guitar, tablet loaded with reggae music.

The one thing I always forget & wish I didn't..............a nightlight for the bathroom.
So much better than bright bathroom lights or stumbling around in the dark!!!

What are 3 m hooks? Just curious.

Onceyougo, they are plastic hooks with an adhesive on the back, they can be removed from the wall by pulling on a tab they leave no marks and will not damage the surface.

Living_the_dream,Natasha at Sea Splash brews a great cup go coffee! Tell her you want it Natasha style(or debbs style).

In addition to my clothes and bathing suits I like to bring a bubba, bug spray, and a tupperwear container to put any leftover food for later, zip lock baggies for storing a multitude of things, sunblock, hats and a t shirt to swim in, just in case I take in too much sun.

Ditto on the Bubba! And swimsuits, sundresses, flip flops, Excedrin... and tweezers (which came in handy when stepped on a sea urchin). Usually shove this all in my carry on and buy sunscreen, moisturizer and hair products when I get there.

What's Bubba?

It's a brand of insulated mug that comes in different sizes. I have 2 Bubba kegs, which are the largest, and just have the bartender fill one of those as opposed to a plastic cup. Keep the other filled with ice water.

I'm a budget traveller so I always bring my own towels, sheets and a ton of washcloths. A small tea boiler, Ziploc bags (gallon size), solar flashlight, candles and a big bottle of Advil and about half a dozen Bic lighters. music of course. anything that's not used up is left behind/given away. Pens! a handful of pens that disappear as quickly as they are used.

Towels, hair conditioner and extra travel size body washes for my lady friends on the beach. They love them!

Books, Books, Books and pretzels and maybe some red licorice. Oh yeah... and we definitely have to bring a flasher for walking the west end road back from dinner at night.

I am also an over packer...just reading all of these comments...What I tell myself when I leave is...I need meds, passport, money, swimsuit and snorkel gear..then I pack everything in the world a traveler may need once in a lifetime..But I see no one said extension cord..I have found this to be very handy..not knowing where outlets are and all..

Yes, I've brought down power strips before - they do come in handy!
