Sun Beach
On the cliffs ... Just Natural
On the beach ... the vendors especially the jerk pork guy and the patty guy
Alfreds
Bourbon Beach
Just Natural
Negril Treehouse when Allen is making his famous Jerk Chicken !!!
Also jerk chicken and patties at Aunties Cheap Thrill Corner.
I second Treehouse for Allen's Jerk chicken and Alfreds. Also Ossie's Jerk hut across from Treehouse and Niah's Patties.
Sweet Spice in town.
Niah's Patties are awesome.
Chicken Lavish, Sun Beach, Bourbon Beach, Cosmos, Best in the West, Alfred's, Neville's and Niah's patties
Cosmo's and Sun Beach on the beach...sharks across from tensing pen on the cliffs... Canoe, cliffs near the roundabout...had a good lunch at buddy's bar at the wild parrot on the beach too...
All the suggestions above are great!! I might add Best in the West on Norman Manley. Really good jerk with a nice vibe. Also, if you want a lighter lunch, try Ras Rody's on the cliffs across from Tensing Pen. Great ital food and always a nice conversation to be had!! Enjoy!!
The fish and chips at Alfreds were better than Captain D's!
I don't see sun beach on the map. Is it near anything i might know?
Sun Beach is about mid beach between Firefly and the old For Real Bar (now Sandy Haven)
Had the blackened chicken at Alfreds last trip and it was amazing!
cosmo's, is probably our favorite, Auntie's Thrill has great food any time of day, and Best in the West, Nia's patties
Canoe .............. great food, vibe, views, staff and rum punch that will knock your socks off ............. but who wears socks in Negril anyway ....... LOL

Bourbon Beach serves food right up to about 11PM and sometimes even lata!
Thank you all so much for the replies. So many great restaurants and so little time.
Sorry to horn in on your thread, but I have never been to Negril, and really want some patties when i get there. Is Niah's the best place to go for them? I am staying on cliffs, but I imagine we will get to the beach. Just in case though, is there somewhere near Tensing Pen to get a great patty as well?
liz h ..............In a word ..............YES
Niah's patties are awesome. To top it off, he's a great guy. Was able to hang out with him over a few beers at Tony's hut. He was awesome.
Love, love Niah's patties! And Niah is as stated..."a sweet, kind, gentle soul" He will hook you up with exactly what you want. If you want it filled with something other than the usual, he will adapt as long as he has the items.
Pon da cliffs, I have no doubts that many of the local eateries will make one on special request. Remember, most of the folks cooking really do aim to please and are more than happy to prepare special orders. I found this out when eating at Shark's(right across from Tensing Pen) one evening and mentioned to Juliet that I was having a hard time finding fresh sorrel. She quickly responded, "Why didn't you ask me?? I will fix some up for you tomorrow" One of the many reasons that I love Negril.
When on the cliffs, check out Out of Town Pastry, further west on One Love Drive. Most anyone can tell you where it is. Getting there early is a must, for items sell out quickly. Some great patties and stuffed coco bread to be had. If you are staying at Tensing Pen, you might check out Ras Rody's. Ras Rody's is ital and open during the day but not the late evening. It might be worth asking them to fix you up an ital patty. They may well cook you up one on the next day. Always worth asking. Have a great visit!!
Liz...Niah's, Miss Sonia's & a place called The Sandwich Hut (near Tensing) all make a more traditional type of patty which is more like a cornish pasty & a full meal deal!!
The patties that can be found from the patty men on the beach, Out of Town Pastry or patty shops around town are more commercialized, smaller but delicious! Instant snack!
I like Chances they have the best pizza in negril. Sometimes i need a break from jerk chicken. But Niahs Pattys are also really good for lunch to.
I'm a FB junkie because I keep looking for the "LIKE" button!!! LOL!!!
My favorites are:
Sunbeach
Best In The West
Ms. Etty's (in Orange Hill)
Red Dragon
Here ya' go. Just click on this :D

Who has the best veggie burger?
On the cliffs, Sips 'n Bites is another favorite of mine. I always just ask what they have ready that day and choose from those offerings. They'll make anything on the menu for you if you're willing to wait. Inexpensive, delicious meals and really nice folks. They don't serve alcohol, but I've heard they don't mind if you BYOB.
Coconut Internatioal
Xtabi has good food, good prices.
Where is Coconut intl?
I agree with everyone!!! :D Sometimes though for something a little lighter, the grill hut on the beach at Coco LaPalm has a nice cobb salad (besides a decent burger).
1...One Mile
2...most-any construction site, where usually some-somebody(s) will be sell-ing GOOD-good pure unadulterated Ja-cuisine at a great price ---- stuff is homemade, fresh daily, with the best-est ingredients:::: it's GOT-to be prepared properly & correct or they'll go-OUT of business quick-quick
3...outside almost any Ja-high school (at lunch-time) --- stuff priced appropriately for the Ja-pickney budget, and is VERY-VERY good (additonally *see* comment #2 above, regarding '.construction sites.'
4...cook-shops @ craft market at the Negril airport --- same comments as above. Interestingly, you'll see MANY hotel workers in the area eating there (e.g., from Sandlles/Beaches, former-SandyBay, the Rui's etc etc.)
5...cook-shops in and/around the Negril bus/car park ---- awesome meals der...!!!.. 'cause taxi-man don't want no foolishness when it comes to his food. IF you're in Lucea (@ bus-park) a wider selection & options for similar Ja-delicacies. Probably same-way @/around Sav's bus/taxi park(s).
oh
oh
oh:::::>>> and DO NOT pass-up an opportunity to grab a lunch at the MoBay buspark ---- on my way from the airport to Negril/Lucea, THIS is my FIRST must-stop place for a just-arrived-from-foreign snack/meal.
* sigh *
me hungry just thinking about these places (above)
oh well
:-(
lemme hop pon my bike,
and moozy(sp?) over to HomeDepot parking and see what today the ladies are selling to the day-workers ---- got a taste for a couple of '.papusa.' ---- Hispanic/Spanish/LatinAmerican food is cool, too,,,, BUT Ja is better (to me) .... at least the HomeDepot lot stuff is priced appropriately (as is the case with the Ja-places above).
Gotta give JENNY'S a mention! The place is awesome!!! Great food at an inexpensive price!
Hmmmmmm the whole experience at Cosmo's

Lobster Pizza at Rondel, lobster on the beach, now you have my taste buds going and I'm 40 days away
I also enjoy the lunch at Annies (formerly Pilots Cafe) - sweet & sour fried chicken w/ rice & peas for about 550JA.
I also often grab box food from Sweet Spot on the road and take it back to the beach to eat.
