Alfred was supposed to pick me up next Saturday from the airport, like he had done two times before and the thought of not seeing his smiling face as I exit the airport has me so upset. He was such a kind, genuine caring man with a laugh that I will always remember. He was like a big brother and always made sure he told me exactly how to handle anyone that gave me any troubles. His warm, welcoming and wise words always made my trips so enjoyable. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. I will always think of Alfred on my trips to and from negril and will miss him terribly. Rest in peace My friend you have touched so many people there is a special place for you

My heartfelt sympathy
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Alfred, I am saddened by his untimely and senseless death. It's obvious that he was very well liked and a good family man. I want to express my heartfelt sympathy to Alfred's family and friends, and will pray that those affected the most will have strength in the days ahead, and that justice will be served. May he rest in peace.

What a wonderful and fitting tribute to a wonderful man....thank you Ohliz. The tears are streaming down my face as I watched this. We were so honored to be part of this tribute. My heart goes out to Alfred's family, Tracy, and to the thousands of people that knew and loved him. For me, Jamaica will never be the same.....

When we first went to Jamaica, I picked Alfred based on the comments here. Over the years, we always called Alfred and never looked back. Our son, who is 12 and has not yet been to Jamaica, always has said that is what he wants the most, to go to Jamaica and meet Alfred. Not the beach, not the food, not the sunshine...just Alfred. He has listened to our stories about Alfred since he was 4. My husband and I knew we had to tell him, as we were both upset by his senseless death, and we are taking him to Negril next year. So during dinner, hubby gently tells him that Alfred has passed. My son INSTANTLY burst into tears! He cried for some time and said, now he never wants to go if he can't meet Alfred. "Remember he bought me a Jamaica shirt when I was little, Mom?" Yes, son, that was the kind of man he was. I am certain he will love Negril and all that Jamaica is, but I just wanted to share how Alfred touched the lives of those he hadn't even met yet.
