He'd love them I'm sure, they aren't cheap , about $40., I'd say.

This is my first time on this Forum (does that make me a boardie, or is there some other initiation?). My excuse: 8 of my 9 trips to Jamaica were in the 1980s...
I’ll be at Yellow Bird 12/27-1/6 with a gal pal who has never been to Jamaica, and I really love introducing newbies to the Negril beach life. In the 80s I stayed at Our Pastime, Yellow Bird, T-Water, Tree House, and Country Country. (I don’t count the misguided trips to Mobay and Ocho Rios before I saw the light.) Then last year I brought my 18-year old son to Charela and I was thrilled to see the Negril essence intact. I was sure the all-inclusives would chase out everyone else, so I’m so pleased to see that they’ve mostly kept to themselves up in the Bloody Bay area. (Nothing against AI if it’s your thing – I don’t mean to offend.)
Anyway, I hope to meet up with whoever is there from this Forum, so thanks for posting this thread!
Welcome to the board Onceyougo!
Anybody planning on doing the bar crawl? We're thinking maybe the 27th??
Hey, 2nutz4travel! I sent you a shout-out on another forum post, but just fyi, I'll be there...I made my reservation with Lenbert for the 27th pub crawl a few weeks ago. Maybe we shall finally meet! I went on the crawl last year and met some awesome people and had a helluva fun time. Perhaps we will have a chance to toast our birthdays this year!
I'm emailing him now :)
Yay! I'll see you then! You know, it was driving me crazy thinking we had some other commonality last year so I looked to see (or remember!) if you had done a trip report after your 2012 trip. I found it, and it reminded me...we both spent our 50th birthdays in Negril last year! I knew there was something else we had in common! Also, I saw that you stayed in the Coral at Catcha last year. I'll be in the Sky for 4 nights before heading to Charela. Your pictures from the Coral got me all excited again about the trip...counting the days...
Lucky girl! Have you stayed at Catcha before? You'll love it! I'd stay there again in a heartbeat, but Mr. Nutz loves the beach.
We were actually initially staying at Charela for NY, but after we stayed at Coco last April we decided to switch...
Nope, last year was my first visit to Negril and I split my 14-day stay between RTPB, Charela and Seastar. I went to dinner at Ivan's and fell in love with it. I still love Charela, so I decided a split cliffs, beach stay was in order this year. I truly understand the "once you go, you know" saying. I was hoping when I went last year that I wouldn't be disappointed after reading all the wonderful things on the forum. Boy was I NOT disappointed! I hear Coco is really nice, too. I have high blood pressure and I think it dropped several points after my first day there last year. Who need blood pressure medicine when you have Negril? :)
