Re: The Number Five - A Trip Report
Bleep bleep of tree frogs and gently falling rain mixed with the sounds of the traffic and the reggae playing next door backlit by a lightning show. A perfect evening in negril. But that is the present as I'm writing this. Back to yesterday's after dinner show...
We sat on our patio after dinner and were soon greeted by K Man. He brought cards! Before long he and SharkHunter had waged war. It was a blast! After he had a few lively and exciting wins I looked up the sign for king. For anyone that's interested, you hold a K and move it diagonally from your shoulder to your opposite hip like the sash of a royal. Fun sign. I call him that. It was King from then on. The card games continued for three hours. At one point he told us his sides were hurting from laughing so hard. Ours were, too. The best part was at the end of the night before we called it quits, before K Man retired as the King of Cards. SharkHunter and I live near several Native American casinos back home and SharkHunter did the mechanical design for one of them. Being the card shark SH is, he of course had a retired deck from them with him. He and K Man agreed to a trade - we are now the proud owners of K Man's well-loved deck with a Jamaican flag design and the K Man has a crisp deck of casino cards SH helped build. A perfect trade. An unbeatable souvenir. What a night that was, one we'll never forget. God bless K Man.

I am LOVING your report. Your descriptions of the people you've met are absolutely heartwarming and genuine. Honestly, your report, although not filled with lascivious details, is perfect and lovely and exactly the vibe I hope to catch in less than two weeks when my feet hit the JA ground for the first time. :)

We are glad everyone is enjoying the post. Nicole.edith, you have most defiantly found the right website for first timers. We have been here many times and without the help from our new friends here on N.com, we wouldn't have found some of these great little hidden treasures of Negril. Ok, now to get the day started and I have to get M to get yesterday's news posted! LOL.

I didn't want to be too corrective in my post so I just put the picture up.
Flo's husband "papa cock" was Mas Hugh's best friend. We used to go play dominoes at the Fisherman's club. We were pretty good at the game and papa cock would set us up with games just mess with his friends on Friday nights.

Thank you Cap. Good info for everybody. Mama (jr) is a fantastic woman. I only wish I had met her mother.
