(((Tracy and Alfred and all family and friends)))
The first time we met Alfred we were staying at Xtabi and Alfred took Pam and I on a mountain tour ending up at Treasure Beach. He quickly became a friend who I trusted to hold my wallet when needed and keep us safe. Although we had been to Jamaica several times before that trip, Alfred taught us many new things. Alfred became one of the reasons that we kept coming back to Negril.
…There was that time that Pam mentioned to Alfred how much she loved calalloo.
The next evening Alfred showed up at Banana Shout with a delicious callalloo casserole.
…There was the time that he brought our teen age boys to join us at Catch Falling Star. They knew who he was because he was wearing a Kentucky blue shirt. Next day he took the 4 of us on a great tour to Treasure Beach, Appleton Estate and Lover’s Leap.
…There was the time at the Friends of Jamaica bashment that at the end of the domino run he used his domino knowledge to win several prizes for us.
…There was the time at Banana Shout our friends were renewing their vows and Alfred shows up with a wedding cake and joined us for the party.
…There was the time that we spent some time at his very nice house in the hills above Negril.
…There was the time that one of our party of 8 had too much rum etc. and jumped out of the his van and ran off. It was the middle of the night and 30 minutes from Negril. After delivering the rest of us to Banana Shout he went back, searched and found him.
…There were so many other great times, but there will be no more.
RIP Alfred Barrett. We loved you and will miss you greatly.

Thanks andy & pam! Love hearing all those wonderful Alfred stories...
I'll always remember one time out with Alfred, we stopped at an old slave holding cell, and someone 'attempted' to get us to pay some viewing tax... Alfred looks at him and said "JAMAICA FREE!" Always loved that line and use it to this day... someone want $ for nuttin.... JAMAICA FREE! (how can you deny that?)
Miss you bredda

huge tragedy, and loss. thoughts to all....
Just heard this horrible news today - we lost our Jamaican Friend and send our condolences with everyone else's. Truly Negril lost one of their finest. We are crying and talking about him and all the good memories he gave us.
