Re: What's your average day in Jamaica?
Wake and bake about dawn. Sit by the ocean as the sun rises counting my blessings. Coffee, breakfast, more coffee. Back to the room for a likkle "nap". More recreational combustibles. Walk or taxi to visit with old friends. Maybe some shopping in town. Snacks, drinks, meals whenever & wherever the mood strikes and plenty more time for contemplation. Maybe catch a webcast. Maybe head out for some live music, maybe not. Sit by the ocean under the stars till I start to doze. Hit the sack for a few hours and do it all over again.

Nice! Had I only known as you were the first boardie I ever met, on the bus to Seastar, my first day ever in Jamaica. My wife and I still laugh about that day as we hit all sorts of great places, little did we know.

Wake up late ..get ready while my partner does his waking.baking…take a nice walk to out of town pastry or nice breakfast at Jus natural.. come back and have a coffee or early drink at ltu and hang out with other local characters and reason for awhile…may go back for a nap or off to the beach..depending on my mood: i need entertainment and laughs-so we go to bourbon beach (good jerk too) or if i want a mellow ,quiet day but with good food and classy service i go to Cosmos-way on the other end….may walk down to boat bar to hang and play pool … depending on the time may go to canoe for two for one wicked good rum punch-or up to murrays new place mango tree …then go back to where ever staying and may go out for the nite…or just go hang with good friend at ras rodys -and wander over to leesa place and ah-bees …then back to the crib and lounge on the verandah enjoying some good cook shop food we broguth back plus drinks,etc..listed to treefrogs, local music coming from where ever and enjoy the rainfall if were lucky ..
Re: What's your average day in Jamaica?
Our typical day starts with me being awake way too early, often before dawn. I catch up with the board, emails etc until daylight then pack up and head to the beach. I read a book and watch the beach come to life until Mr. Nutz rolls out of bed. Then it's off to get coffee for him and breakfast for me. We buy a bottle of fresh oj from Flex and it's time for mimosas on the beach and people watching. Usually a nice light lunch from a beach vendor or we head to Niah's for a patty. Lot's of cooling off in the sea, a few cocktails, likkle short strolls here and there and before you know it, the sun is setting and it's time for happy hour! More often than not, dinner is something from Best in the West. A few drinks on our patio, listen to some tunes and call it a night. It's amazing how quickly the day goes and we've usually done very likkle!
Thanks Capn for reminding me how utterly relaxing our lazy days in Negril are!
Re: What's your average day in Jamaica?
That is the first place I remember meeting Ras Walleye as well, on the Seastar bus. I was sitting right next to him? I think I apologized for my behavior the next day ?
Re: What's your average day in Jamaica?
Lots of good peeps met on that bus either coming or going. Pgw I remember just being glad you survived the night. You were a man on a mission.
Re: What's your average day in Jamaica?
I believe that was the night the lady was telling the driver to turn up the music, and Rock Robster was complaining about not getting a cupcake on the buffet? lol
Re: What's your average day in Jamaica?
Waking up at Seastar Inn, we usually hit the Veranda very early and enjoy the sounds of Negril coming alive. Roosters, neighbors beginning their day with music. Back inside to watch the "Smile Jamaica" morning show on T.V. to get the latest Jamaica news and weather.
A hot shower before breakfast and then to the Seastar dining room for a delicious continental breakfast. (eggs 2 dollars extra).
Then it's back to the room to get ready for the beach. We leave at 11 on the Seastar bus for Sun Beach or wherever else we want and swim, lunch, move along the beach to sample the drinks at several other bars/resorts and then usually make our way to the road and cab it to either the round a bout for shopping or back to Seastar for rest or a nap. Happy hour starts at 4 p.m.
Dinner at the hotel where the food is so delicious or a walk to a nearby restaurant like LTU for dinner.
After that, drinks and party favours on the veranda and maybe some web surfing or t.v. before bed.
Exciting eh?
