Scotia is still in BofA's Global Alliance. BofA waives the $5 flat usage fee for using a non-BofA ATM (Scotia ATM) but still assesses an international transaction fee (3%). They've done this for several years now. You may be able to get international transaction fees refunded if you have enough assets with BofA to qualify for their Platinum Privileges program.

I have no fees from NCB ATMs, My bank is a small local bank on the MoneyPass network. There is a 1% foreign transaction fee from the card provider though(VISA) but even with that I still usually get a better rate than the cambios.

Scotiabank account. Their service generally sucks but with branches all over mexico and the caribbean I keep my account going for travel use only.

We bring some cash but put almost everything on our Capital One Venture card. They don't charge any foreign exchange fees and the miles add up. We've only had it for a little over a year now and it already paid for two airline tickets and hotel rooms.

I have BOA and Scotia bank killed me with foreign transaction fees. Also noticed most you can withdraw is 35000 j's in town if they happen to have enough in the ATM at the time.

BOA started charging foreign exchange fees about 2 yrs ago. there are not any fees on withdrawing us currency. i find myself going to the cambio after a withdrawal to save that fee. i noticed there are no fees for us
ing ncr bank but haven't checked foreign exchange fees yet.
