We have done all the pre-storm preparations and my Rastafarian friend "Freddy" and I are ready to ride it out whatever it brings. I live in So. Florida when not in Jamaica so I know a little bit about Hurricanes and I am giving this one respect but not freaking out about it either.
We are out on the West End off Breadnut Lane. Everything's done but the waiting.
Peace and Guidance. Be safe everyone.
Watching this thread with interest and praying that Matthew slows down and veers away from beautiful Jamaica!

Loads of people testing their generators...wish I had taken a colourful picture of the line of fishing boats on the river by the Negril bridge...fire engine testing lights etc and some of the hurricane parties have already started...

We filled 2,000 gallons of water tanks today.
I asked Linston today if we had kerosene lamps. Gone out of style I guess.
I have three here in Florida.
Now all we need is our old Singer kerosene refrigerator.
See you don't really need electricity
