Re: Thank you to our Canadian friends!
Illinois has a lot of stupid going on. We just logged our 7th straight year of overall population decline. Only New York had a larger net loss last year.

If you die in a car accident and you happened to have Covid, to count that as a Covid death is stupid, misleading and skews anything and everything that scientists are trying to do to stop this pandemic.

Regardless of whether someone said that, it's really not true. Just another of those zombie memes that keep coming back to life no matter how many times it is discredited.
Re: Thank you to our Canadian friends!
I guess someone could make a meme out of this. I thought memes were usually funny though.
"If you were in hospice and had already been given a few weeks to live, and then you also were found to have COVID, that would be counted as a COVID death. It means technically even if you died of a clear alternate cause, but you had COVID at the same time, it's still listed as a COVID death. So, everyone who's listed as a COVID death doesn't mean that that was the cause of the death, but they had COVID at the time of the death." Dr. Ezike outlined.

How depressing, but this excess mortality is really a good way to look at this whole COVID situation and usually puts the 'this is a plandemic' disbelievers down. Counting excess deaths takes into account deaths directly attributed to the virus and those indirectly attributed - eg, increase in suicides because of extended unemployment and financial ruin, increase in heart attack deaths because people are afraid to go to hospital.
All this makes me want to get back to Negril more than ever - a bit of a medical hurdle and then we're there!
