Since I am a novice I will ask a probably silly question. What do you do with your "stuff" while you are snorkeling, stuff like money, room key, credit card? I mean, if you are leaving your hotel you need to take your "stuff" with you, so what do you do with it while you are at Rhodes Hall out in the water???? Thanks for helping a newbie cover all bases!
I'll chime in, too. I see that lunch is available for $15./person, plus there are taxes and service charges. How much total money do two of us need to bring for a day of snorkeling? I assume the driver will expect a tip; who else will? It's nice to know in advance exactly what the whole package is.

I am coming with my own gear, but does the price include gear for my kids, or is that extra?
I dont think it includes equiptment.Price to rent there snrokel gear is great.We used it.No Problems mon!!-$5 a day cant go wrong with that.IMO
You can bring your personal belongings and keep them behind the Rhodes Hall Bar or in the Rhodes Resort office (we are in the process of building small lockers for guests). Bring your own snorkeling equipment or rent ours for just $5 US per person. Beach towels for rent $5 US per person. Lunch prices vary depending on what your order and does not include 10% Service Fee and 10% Tax. An average price for lunch is approximately $15.00, but can run less or more depending on if you order alcohol, or just a cup of soup. Our Day Pass is only $5 US per person (9am to 6pm) if you come on your own. Our $15 US package includes Day Pass, transportation to and from your Negril area hotel, and one free Red Stripe Beer, soft drink or bottled water. And, tipping is discretionary.

We did this for most of the day Jan. 26 and had a great time. We stay on the lively part of the beach, so it was nice to have a really quiet day (literally, quiet, no loud music, nobody yelling, no motorboats or jet skis) - long snorkel, back to shore for a nap, another long snorkel.
This is also a good opportunity for first-time snorkelers and non-swimmers to see the sea life, because the beach area you snorkel from has a retaining wall that's about knee-deep and where you can see lots of small fish and a conch or two. You can also see fish, crabs, etc. right from the dock. Polarized sunglasses make it a lot easier. If you're wading, do bring footgear of some kind to wade in because you'll be walking on chunks of coral of various sizes.
If I recall correctly, they said that Tuesdays and Thursdays are the quiet days, on MWF the Wild Thing comes by. But I'm not certain about that. We were there on a Thursday.
