Oh no. I feel your pain. So disappointing. But there is "always a way" if you really want to go. tell boardies how much your budget is and we will all pitch in and help find a way if one exists. There are cute romantic affordable places for you to stay that may be off the usual radar....great suggestion for NegrilOneStop - they have a great site and are very helpful.

Tizzy can Negril handle 2 crazy Texas women who can probably drink most men under the table? Save me some room in that bag! I can be in ATX in 2 1/2 hours! And did I mention I'm a contortionist? :) So disappointed we missed all of you but hopefully that will change sooner than later.

I will try Negril One Stop. Sadly it seems like Hubs has given up and accepted defeat. Me, I'm still looking every day trying to find a way.

Tizzy how close are you to Concan? Ever float the Frio river? If we can't find a way to Negril we are getting a cabin up there for a week.

I've been in your shoes before....you do all the work planning for a fun trip with your friends, only to have them back out when it was time to write the check. After having gone through that, my wife and I said to each other "never again".

Now what we do is plan a trip for just the two of us and let our friends know where we are going and when and that if they would like to join us they are more than welcome, if not, we'll send them a postcard from paradise.

JnJ...if there is a place on the face of the earth that can handle it....it's NEGRIL! lol I'll pack you in my suitcase if you promise to teach me some tricks! ajajajaja

Love the FRIO...used to go to the Fri. night dances in Concan when I was a kid hahaha. I'm down for floatin, when are ya'll going?

Muck- you are so right. I honestly should have known better and you would think I would be tired of having to play mother hen, chef, travel agent and tour guide. This trip was the last and I hope all of you will hold me to that.

Tizzy- This will be a first for us if we go. We normally float the Guadalupe but most of the houses book way in advance. Things are going pretty quickly for the Frio too but I just can't seem to book it. I am still holding out for Negril. Booking the Frio trip means it is real and I really won't be going. I just am not ready to give up and accept that we really aren't going to Negril. Hubs is pressuring me to book soon because we do not want to wait too long and miss out on a cabin. It will be fun but no matter what we do if it isn't Negril I will feel like I am settling :(
We are looking to stay at Neal's in Concan. It looks like a lot of fun but still just not the same regardless ya know? The dates if we got the cabin would be Aug 6-12.
And I hate to jump on the bandwagon but seriously I am dying over here! Trip report? I have been so intrigued and virtually high-fiving you over here ever since the very first pics of the handsome Rumspringa and Tizzy surfaced while you were still in Negril. Please don't keep us waiting too long you tease! :p


Marley- First I want to say that seeing you in all of the pictures shows you are just as beautiful outside as you are inside. You are so sweet and your smile speaks volumes lady! When we booked the trip we paid about $600 for our portion of the villa (the deposit) for 6 nights (Aug 4-10). The price more than doubled after everyone flaked. If we could find something somewhere in that range ($600-$800)for an AI/free breakfast, or around half that for a Non-AI, that would be awesome. So far no luck on anything available. Thanks bunches for your help.

I sure hope my Math is right on that. It isn't my strong point. I usually leave that to my sexy mathematician of a husband.
