Re: MoBay to Negril for about $30 ... ROUND TRIP!
Thanks for the info, Justin, my friend would hopefully have the email..it's kinda funny, she has never been to Negril before and doesn't know the runnings, I have been there five previous times and been coming since '06, (which is still a relative newbie to a lot of folks here, lol. ;) ) but she is the one that made the decision, or rather her husband did, so I will have to live with it. I am sure it will all be good, the price is definitely the cheapest around.
Re: MoBay to Negril for about $30 ... ROUND TRIP!
So can you just walk up to booth 8 and book or do you need to buy beforehand?
Re: MoBay to Negril for about $30 ... ROUND TRIP!
@tfw73, I don't know if you can just walk up to the booth and get the same price. If you're planning on just going to MoBay and catching a cab to Negril, maybe you can ask them at the booth what they would charge. I did it through viator and was very happy with the service. Since there was only two of us going to Negril we got a private car. I suppose if there are several people arriving on the flight all going to negril, they would have a minivan or bus depending on the number of passengers.
Re: MoBay to Negril for about $30 ... ROUND TRIP!
justin,
Once you were in the car, how long did it take to get to Negril, and then how long back to Mo Bay? Did you have any stops on the way?
Re: MoBay to Negril for about $30 ... ROUND TRIP!
It took maybe an hour and a half or a little bit more. But there was lots of traffic on MoBay and Lucie. He kept to the speed limit and we made a stop along the way. Michael said that they are tracked to ensure they are not speeding, have to take drug tests to ensure they are not smoking ganja and they are not allowed to drink. So while we had a red stripe along the way, Michael had a coke at the pit stop. On the way back he offered to stop if we wanted but we declined so we got to MoBay in about 75 minutes. To be honest, I wasn't checking my watch all that much ... after all, we are in Jamaica LOL! Overall a VERY professional driver.

oh man..they drug test employees? So in other words, employees cannot smoke in their off hours. Lovely. Not what I wanted to hear..bad enough I'm going to an AI where tipping isn't allowed. I'm starting to feel like such a damn hypocrite...the things we do for friends. :(

You feel like a hypocrite because they are drug tested? Really? Would you rather that they light up a big spliff on their off hours, just before they pick you up from the airport? I for one was very happy to hear that my driver was not intoxicated in any way while taking my life in his hands. You know it's one thing for us tourists to go there and smoke if we choose but quite another to have a stoned out driver taking me to Negril. Just my humble opinion.
Re: MoBay to Negril for about $30 ... ROUND TRIP!
I agree with you on that, but when people are drug tested, thc shows up in the system for 30days, it's one thing if like alcohol there was a test that showed how recently one had partaken, but since there isn't, I just don't think it's right is all. I have no problem with what someone wants to do on their days off or time off after work whatsoever.
Re: MoBay to Negril for about $30 ... ROUND TRIP!
their company policy is what it is...........but I bet they don't get too many job applicants.........
and the few they do get might have a hard time passing any kind of test........lol
on a personal note....I will not get in a vehicle in Jamaica if I know the driver has been drinking....
bad enuff with all the crazy maniacs driving down der..........
Cool Runnings, Marko

Interesting. Many of my Jamaican friends don't do drugs of any kind...and never have.
