Re: The tree frog sounds are fake, right?
You have to look really hard for the speakers. They're usually camouflaged to look like rocks and buried deep in the hedges. They even have the sound system connected to back up generators so that it keeps going during power outages.
I've heard, but can't confirm that "the guy" broadcasts across the entire island from an undisclosed location somewhere in Kingston (St. Andrew Parish at least). Rumor has it that it's a government job; a section of the Bureau of Tourism. Investigations are still ongoing to track him down.

The little critters are relentless, persistent, tenacious, merciless, etc and followed us from the Grand Palladium Resort near Montego Bay to the Idle Awhile Resort at Negril. The sole cause of many sleepless nights....... and we never saw a single one.

It's like white noise or having a radio on at night to help you fall into a deep island sleep....(the rum helps too)
Re: The tree frog sounds are fake, right?
Tree frogs are one of my very favorite sounds in Jamaica...the sound of peacefulness for me.
