Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
Hey Pelicano:
If you play golf, I would definitely recommend a few rounds (or even a few 9-holers) at Negril Hills Golf Course... Fun, funky little course.
Scooters are another awesomely fun way to pass the time, while being a convenient way to get around!
I also enjoy bringing a paddle-ball set (or two)...
Fishing for your dinner...
Whoopie's Hammock Park...
Doing anything extra-early in the morning...

Then there is the time honored "sitting on your arse and looking into space" sport. It is really fantastic, and I consider myself a pro by the second or third day of vacation.
Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
Lighthouse, definately Whoopies, Red Dragon bar in Red Ground, rent bicycles and drive down West end road, Abekouta park, parasail, Sav shopping.....so any options, just get off that AI property.

I agree, go for the 2nd week, but don't stay at the same resort. There are lots of great non AI hotels on the beach and cliffs. There's lots of activity and people watching on the beach. Staying there is an excursion itself. You can go to Xtabi on the cliffs to explore their caves, snorkel, jump, have drinks and eat. Gorgeous view. Go to Seastar for their Saturday night buffet and live show. Go to the Negril.com webcasts. Stop in at the little bars for their happy hours. Chat with the locals. Try a different place each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Go to Charela Inn Thursday evening for dinner and their live jazz show, Idle Awhile Friday night for their buffet and show. Have a look at the entertainment section on this forum for a listing of things to do several times a week. Explore and get to know Negril while in Negril, that's the beauty of it, it's not within a "resort".
You may want to go to Rhodes Hall for a few hours, quiet, natural, great snorkeling, tours of their historic property, horseback riding...

Scuba jumping at Rick's. Guaranteed to be a hit on YouTube.

Thanks for the great shots. Much appreciated.
Re: Things to do for 2 weeks?
Those are all wonderful suggestions, but be careful what you recommend. Horseback riding along Negril's beach in any form or fashion is strictly illegal and the Police will stop that activity if they are present. It is better to stay with fully licensed and insured horseback riding operations. Likewise, spearfishing is illegal in most places where fish are present, especially in proximity to any reef or marine park. Line fishing or deep sea fishing is preferable. Jet-ski's are also carefully regulated as they are very unfriendly to the environment..
