Tell Lenbert I said Hi! Have fun.
Thanks Tiz,
And Fred - We did a self guided walk up the westend road.
Love it Flip! Simple, easy to read & takes me right there!
So glad you had a great birthday ... I tried real hard to put a Flip gif on here for you, but I'm just to special for that kinda technology! It was some cartoon thing blowing out candles on a sub ... totally appropriate I thought! ;)
Haha thanks. Glad you enjoyed. You are lucky and have access to all the pics I'm too lazy to post. :D
Nice read Flip. Hope you don't mind ,I filled in for you with Dave in your absence on this last reach. Well sort of, we never did a true crawl.........
He said you guys know how to party, so you did your job well.
Last full day in Negril. Time went by way too fast.
The usual. Started off the day with some breakfast, and a walk up the beach. Ended up raining a bit and we were in front of Margaritaville. We figured... what the heck. Beers... 4.75. I get it, it's a place that mostly AI people get shipped to, and there's no danger of them really leaving the area, so they can charge whatever... But man.. Over double price of most decent places on the beach. Maybe a little less than double for the odd place that charges 3 bucks for a stripe. We only hung out for one.. Jimmy Buffett was scheduled to make an appearance the day prior, but he didnt want to fly his plane in the wind.
Anyway, checked the phone. Only 3 hours until we were supposed to meet our little crew of newbs to take them on tour, so we begin to walk back. Sun beach for a last beer.
Then Tony's Hut. Where we met Lisa's old friends and now our new friends, from Canada. 5 Rounds later we leave with an agreement to meet at Sea star for the show later in the evening. They were going to ride up, us hike.
By the way... I have never met a Canadian I didnt like drinking with.
We head down to sunnyside to pickup one of our new group. Have a quick drink. Say bye to Maureen.
Down to Yellow bird to pick up our new friends from NJ. We stop quickly to get money out of the ATM across the street, and then to Shields for a quick change of clothes.
Next, we go into town, stop at corner bar.
Then we stop at Sunset after Dark
Natural Mystic
Sky Bar
C&D - Newbs from NJ bought some cake for pre flight the next day.
PeeWees
No Limit (Met Marko there. Nice guy)
Maybe somewhere else before that? I dont remember
Had a wonderful dinner at 3 dives. I brought home some jerk sauce.
Hitched a ride up to Sea Star for the show.
If anyone watched on the webcast. I was called up on stage as part of the dance off or whatever. By this time we were well over served, so I was more than happy to jump up there. I was told I did OK. I dont know. Crusher had front row seats.
Stayed for the drummers
A whole group of us decided to go to No Limit, but it was closed, to we went to Errols. The original 5 of us stayed until 2 maybe 3am? I have no idea. The next thing I know is Jackie punching me to wake up, because our ride was going to be there to take us to the airport really soon (9am).
But I will save that part of the report for tomorrow.
I wouldn't want Jackie punching me, she's ripped! Bet she could take YOU hahaha jk jk (not really)
what do you mean Boog we crawled all the way to Vegas lol
She's a tough little bugger that's for sure. I guess that's because she is 1 of 8 siblings.
Flip, that was an epic 12hr round trip tour of the west. we were up past 3am. i can only imagine the pain you all endured the next day.
i have some pics of you on stage, you want me to post them?
lol. No that's OK.
Great times for sure though and a pleasure meeting you.
Last day on the island.
We had told our driver to pick us up around 9. Our flight was not until 2:30, but we wanted to take our time and poke around before heading into the airport.
We stopped at a road side stand called "Cold beer joint" We had fresh coconut water and Overproof to kick off the day. I hadn't planned on boozing at all, but I will tell you what... This concoction completely destroyed any feeling of hangover I had.
Hung out for about 35 40 mins, and then off to mobay. We got to mo bay around 11:00 and we decided to hit Jerky's for lunch. As always it was very good. They had an EPL soccer match going and some locals and our driver were all very interested.
Sadly this was the last taste of Jamaica we would be getting until April. I havent had this tough of a time dealing with leaving since the first time I went to Negril. Luckily we already have our air, and soon our hotel, booked for April. That's only a few months from now.
Airtran, is the only airline in MoBay that doesnt allow you to self checkin. It is a complete joke. We waited in line for an hour. We decided to grab club MoBay passes. great decision. We got through security really quickly and relaxed at the bar while watching the AFC Championship game.
For 35 bucks a person, the value is unmatched. If you plan on getting food and drink in the terminal.. You are looking at spending about 20 dollars a person anyway. Why not spend the extra 15 to get comforts of the lounge?

I yelled "Watch out for the Bamboo!" right before the picture was taken. That was the theme of the trip, more than ever "Great for your bamboo mon" "Puts lead in your pencil mon" And the proprietor of that shop was very keen on everything he had doing that.

Way to go. Nice report.
I knew that Cold Beer Joint pic in your first post looked familiar. I've passed it before, but never stopped there. So they pour the overproof directly into the coconut water?
Excellent report, Flip! I will be sure to pay it forward when we land on the rock in 6 days. I've had about enough of the crap weather we've been having in Philly.
Yep. He opens the coconut and asks if you want rum in it. Pours it right in. It's delicious.
Great little trip report! I have to try rum in a coconut.
