Re: My Rant, So sorry Kahuna

Wow.
Really though? I didn't think Gerry's post was racist or misogynistic at all. He said nothing about skin color, and his statement was on behalf of the women that are left to struggle ??? I mean no disrespect, but I do think you're turning a blind eye to a very real problem in Jamaica, that Gerry pointed out, though not very gently i'll give you that.
Yeah sure if you want to nit-pick, it could be considered an unfair "blanket statement"... but c'mon I think we all know that he isn't referring to ALL Jamaican men. Just keeping it real. It's a freaking problem over there.
The whole point of this thread has been totally derailed and misconstrued IMO

LOL! I was thinking the same thing. Baby Daddy is a big issue in Jamaica..... I wonder if Ancestry.com does business in Jamaica.

Re: My Rant, So sorry Kahuna
You could say the same thing about Detroit and I think anywhere in the US. Women having multiple kids with multiple fathers. Women having more kids to get more money from the Government. Gerry, you face has been on here so much, that you should probably just stay out of Jamaica. Just sayin', if I were you I would be scared, and this is not a threat just a thought.

You're right tizzy. It has been derailed, and I contributed. I will keep my thoughts on the issue I commented on to myself. My addition is in no way helping with the discussion.

Yes, and no.
It's a cultural definition. Placing the attitude that one is superior to a woman. Found in lots of patriarchal society's, very common among cultural groups who think of women as there to please the men.
Women can be misogynistic....

Actually it would be misagynistic. Misandry is the hatred of men.

WHAAAA? You're telling me that kind of thing happens here in the good 'ol US of A? haha I had to tap into my sense of humor for this one because dude that's my reality, so please...... And brace yourself because this might come as a shock.....not all of us single moms pop out baby after baby by different men, and collect a check from the gvmt, some of us actually work hard to take care of our own. And those that do choose to just piggyback....well fortunately for the kids, there are resources that help keep them fed and clothed, when mom doesn't feel like it's her responsibility
Since we're all ranting.....
It's comparing apples to oranges!! I have more job opportunities where I can make decent livable wages not to mention medical and dental benefits for me and my children, public school, etc... totally different dynamics my friend. I can tell you for fact that life in Jamaica is a little bit more harsh and unforgiving for the single moms and their children. I really do apologize if this sounds like a rant in itself, it's a topic that hits close to home and I could keep going but my head might explode.....and yall probly don't wanna hear it anyways lol
I guess we all see things from our own personal perspectives....
-
Re: My Rant, So sorry Kahuna
Well said Tizzy....I totally get what you are saying. I don't see why it's so hard for some people to see this dynamic??

I am silent because I know that there is no response that will cut through your sarcasm. You grossly misinterpret what I have posted for your own bitter use. You win.

Re: My Rant, So sorry Kahuna
I'm going to Negril right now and like buy one of those hats with the long rasta hair and like go deep undercover as the white rasta guy from Jerzy and capture this Varmit.

Some people are part of the solution. They give us hope...
Other people are part of the problem. They lead us toward extinction.
You always make it very clear, Fred Flintstone, to which group you belong....
Fortunately for us...Love Wins!! :)

I can only add that "Fred Flintstone" may be a big fish in a New Jersey pond but he would be a guppy living here in Jamaica.
Anybody seen Jimmy Hoffa lately??

I don't either Butch. But I think Jaherring was right in that some just can't handle that kind of reality, and others just can't step outside of their selves long enough to care. Or maybe they are too lazy to walk a mile ;)

Re: My Rant, So sorry Kahuna
Fred I'm not one to judge people at all....but how do you go to Jamaica and smoke weed if you are a cop in the states and arrest people for doing that very same thing??? Not sure why I'm asking you that, but you yourself said you like "stirring the pot" on here....thought I would help you out a bit in doing just that!

Re: My Rant, So sorry Kahuna
I believe Fred is a former cop. Is not uncommon for retired cops to partake in the ganj. There are actually a few on this board.
