I can work on that tomorrow?
Spyda's to give Anita a hard time
Jenny's on the patio
Debar by the fire
Sir D's for sunset
Ivan's for sunset and great bartenders. More fun on slow nights at the restaurant and the later it gets
Seastar for a ball game and really any other time
Mi Yard for late night
Were you following me?
MIyard....24/7 affordable food and drink. Plus the owner runs a tight ship....nobody going to beg beg or ruin your vibe while you hang there......except once in a great while an expat or tourist on a long reach that pissed away their money.
Yes! She's the 3nd person in JA to offer me credit ( a short list). I had a large bill at an off hour...she's didn't have change...she let me return later and pay....it was just for a cup of tea but trusting me to return felt very nice. Delroy is very pleasant as well...a nice dude to chat with if it's a slow time for him...makes everyone feel welcome.
This would be the only photograph evidence app. 4:00 am at Miyard!
After a night at Las Vegas Negril, after a night at Roots Bamboo!
And the chicken... well that was a carry in meal? The person eating it thought they had forgot it in the taxi, but here is proof that did not happen, lmao
Its all good, if I recall you did your fare share of buying that night, it was all good until the next morning, wait one more picture Attachment 33456
Good old Mi Yard...where else can i go when i want a cold guniness and some Jamaican style snack food at 4am-or anythign of the day /week.. and Delroy is a great guy....you never know what you will witness while hangin out on the porch....
No limit: great little place-great little location-nice and strong drinks
Mystic bar: pretty little wooden place with nice hospatality..
LTU: kind of an ex-pat -west end hang-out ...one of the most beautiful views -up on the cliffs...food pretty good (little $$) nice place to chill on the west end -good vibes.. and did i mention the view??
Sir-d's...remember when he was starting to build the place up..i said with a view like this -and nice open/but intimate setting you got a winner here....excellent place to watch sun set (esp if you dont want deal with crowds at ricks)
Lesa's bar -right across street from ricks -down the lane a bit...a local hang-out for sure-with street parties every once in awhile..always got the tunes playing.. tourists of course always welcome..venture out a bit and have a drink -meeti some local jam folks from the neighborhood...
am not too much a beach person... but when am there: Bourbon Beach:, always a circus type atmosphere- with a beauitful beach right there...
Cosmos-long time establishment ,,,way down the beach next to the long bay public beach... excellent food.. great drinks..very few higglers down in that area..how the beach should be..beautiful, clean, great food/drinks available and you can actually hang out in peace...
Excellent suz. By Monday afternoon. All your suggestions with full credit will be up top. Thank you. !
almost forgot-on the beach - The Boat Bar: another place that been around for awhile, locals and toursits alike hang-play some pool, enjoy the music (sometimes live) very chill place-food is good too..
Debars: some of the best jerk chciken/lobster in negril...great bar too-thatched,sometimes with a bonfire, intimate with friendly folks..the owner Eddie and his wife Pam -two of the nicest people..good tunes too..even without the awesome meal-a great place to unwind, chill and soak up the vibes..
Seastar: i really only hang there when am staying there or close by-but doesnt mean its not another great bar to visit with party atmosphere vibes-excellent food you can order and always someone new to meet-be a traveler, ex-pat,local, or the cool owners (chris and francine) great happy hour deal....
located on the west end -far down the lane-can walk to it in the daytime-at night i'd get a ride..
when I walk to roundabout, i always grab a beer or two from the corner bar/seaview sports bar....the picnic tables across the street are great for people watching...had some pretty good jerk chicken there as well...
Yeah, I really like that boat bar. But it don't really look like a boat to me.
I wouldn't forget Red Ground.
Collettes's - A lovely little Yellow Bar on Fire Station Road in Red Ground. Inviting and friendly looking from the outside, that is confirmed when you meet the wonderful Collette, one of the most warm and friendly people in Negril.
Red Dragon - More than just pork! Come here anytime for great local conversation and the coldest Red Stripes in town! And cheap!
So here is the tour I usually take from the roundabout some already been mentioned,
Sunset After Dark, although it is a restaurant, I stop there quite often for a drink or two, and if Patrick is there most likely a shot of Tequilla
Canoe, how can you pass by without a stop in here, don't forget the rum punch here!
A couple new ones for me, up Tigress lane to The Mango Tree, drinks by the pool, and good ceasars Thatch Hut is on this lane too, although it wasn't open last pass by, I hear it has reopened.
Susan,s bar "Natural Mystic, this is one of my favourites, I always have a good time here, day or night.
Sandra,s bar just a short walk from the last stop there are a crew of regulars that hang here nightly.
Sandra,s sisiters bar, don't recall the name its right across the street and if no is at Sandra,s it is probably because they are over there!
Always happy to make it through that cluster of bars!
Now there is a good break walking south, you may want to bring a road ale!
Jenny,s is next cant get by here without a visit with Connie, a cold beer snack, and if its your thing maybe a special cake!
Debar, for me this is a last call joint, mostly end up here as the last stop of the night, they stay open until the last soul leaves.
Spyda Jam, this is one of my favourites, I think the bartender is secretly in love with me, and she is really good at keeping a secret!
No Limit, No Limit! always a game of dominoes out front and a must stop in the west!
Across the road Peewee,s I don't go here that often not for any reason other than I am afraid I might order a rum punch! and that could end the night early, lol
Another break in the action heading south!
I missed Xtabi in there some where don't always stop there but if I am hungry, the clubhouse sandwich is really good and cheap, beware of the expensive drinks here!
Not a bar but if your walking I almost always stop at Wise Choice and grab a beer after the long stretch of no bars.
Seastar would be about next, up the lane.
Ivan,s bar one of my must stop bars, just a cool place with a great staff!
Rick,s Café, ok I know! but I think you should always go there at least one time per trip! After all its one of the worlds top ten bars!?
Right across the road you can always get a cold beer from Lisa,(Marcia spells it Leesa, she is probably right?) she is Charma,s sister who sells souveniers across the road.
LTU, this was off my list for a while, but now its back on? long story, I had one of the best afternoon,s in my life start at this bar, lmao
Sir D,s Love Nest Firewater, the only bar I know with three different names? anyway best place in the westend to watch sunset!!!
On a walking tour that's kinda the southern most stop, but if your driving, the bar at the Westender is a cool place to have a few!
OK so I know I have missed a few but got most of the regular stops on the west end!
As mentioned in Redground,
The Red Dragon, Ragabones, this place only has two names, lol, ice cold beer and always fun place.
Colleta,s this place is all about her personality, she makes every one feel like a regular when you come through the door, if you can fit,lol
Oh, yeah, Tizzy, too funny you were mad you left your chicken in the taxi! But you didn't, wish I had a video of that bird being devoured (spelling?) LMAO
Added some of the updates. PGW. I will add yours soonish.
added.
Damn you're good :)
You rock Flip... thanks for this! Looks like I have work set out for me in March LOL :o
Canoe bar. . . Clean, private beach ,good snorkelling, daily happy hour 2-6pm, 2 for one drink specials including our famous rum punch, dirty bannaas and blue canoe, cold red stripe 250$!!!!
Tonys hut and Yellowbird....Two best on the beach!! Great prices on ice cold red stripes!!
After the fourth/fifth bar, I'm lucky to be able to remember my name, let alone the name of the establishment!.
My favs: Ivan's, Mi Yard, Xtabi, Lighthouse, No Limits.........see what I mean? :)
Thanks Flip for starting this!
Oh God another slice of that coconut pie!
Patty ,Canoe is on my list, you cant pass by Canoe without stopping for at least one, and dont sit on the couch unless you have some time!
[QUOTE=Bossman;124386]Love that couch and the vibe that goes with it........plus the two for rum one punch....at least that's the way I say it. Canoe is a great stop.
Love that Bossman! Funny enough it is a far more apt description of the special. Been KO'd once or twice by that same concoction myself. Standing 8 and back in swinging for more.
And oooooohhhh yes that couch. Left many a worry far behind there in that very spot. Very cheap and effective couch therapy indeed.
Canoe Bar couch Therapy is known to cause amazing lucid daydreaming, friendly conversation, fits of joy , extreme relaxation and overall feelings of Irie vibes. See your doctor to ask if Canoe Bar couch therapy is right for you.
Added about 80% of pgw's to the top. Negril has a lot of bars.
Our last crawl started from CoCo to Tonys Hut to the 24hr bar by the market to Sunnyside to that small Rasta bar where Joshua hangs to Travellers then Taxi to Canoe Bar?????
We showed there for the Boardie thing at 2pm,,,found out it started at 4pm,,,,
But Happy Hour was ON !!!!!!! I'm sure I was sorely missed?
Also, Out of Town pastry always has an open bottle of JB Overproof on the counter. One dollar a shot. Bring a ten-spot and live it up.
