The news is quite sad and sobering. Just a couple of days ago things were looking quite promising and it looked like Betty would pull thru. The courage that Stan has demonstrated is admirable and I could only wish to be half the man if I had to deal with a similar situation. Those of you that know these two fine people know the love they had for each other and I'm sure your heart is breaking like so many others. RIP Betty
Dear Betty and Stan, all of us at St. Anthony's Kitchen and Mary Gate of Heaven Church are thinking of and praying for you. Be strong with what the Lord has in mind! Peace and all good to you! --Fadda Jim
God bless you and your family. I was telling my wife this morning how I met Betty and Stan once or twice and I am really sad. I think my deep sadness is a testament to the wonderful Betty. My prayers are with you. Sad....
My deepest condolences to Betty's family and friends.
So very sorry for your Loss.....May Jah comfort you and your family during this sad and difficult time.
That sucks another of our family members passed.Over the years we have lost many on this board.Though I have never crossed paths with Stan & Betty I feel a bond with them."May Jah Protect & Guide"
R.I.P. Betty
Prayers of comfort for Rasta Stan and Betty's friends and family.
May the Lord provide you strength and comfort. God bless Stan and family.
Betty was the first boardie that we ever met. We walked into Canoe Bar one day during our first trip and a woman greeted the wife and I. She was wearing a Betty Boop shirt, which my wife complemented her on. The woman told us that was her screen name.
Our hearts are with Stan and family during this difficult time.
Stan, we've not met you but are sending prayers of courage your way. Nicole and George
Stan and Betty made a point of paying it forward while on the island they visited so often. Very sad news indeed!
Stan, so sorry for your loss, it really saddens us, we had so much fun and memories with you and Betty, Anne still can hear Betty laughing and carrying on, we will miss her precious smile and personality,
stay strong, ours prayers are with you.....
So sorry to hear this, they were the first people we met on our first trip this year, they gave do much good advice.

Very sorry for your loss, Stan. May you find comfort and strength from your family.
Hugs Stan..
This past week we all learned of Betty Mazdas' passing, I cannot believe Rob or Lisa has made no mention of it. Come on we're all friends, maybe Rasta Stan has said something in the past that bugged you but as a major contributor to this board how can Lisa, Rob and Seastar not comment? Stan: I and Lulu are so sorry, Love to your family.
Perhaps you should go back a few days and read. I think you missed something.
I've been reading every day is there a comment from Rob, Lisa or Seastar?
here's the link to the thread

Yes, I see it not sorry Rob and Lisa, I'm so upset at her passing I'm just all f up
And who the heck are you to determine where and how one expresses grief and condolences. Expressing oneself on this board is a easy. There are other more personal and sincere ways of sending condolences. Personal emails, phone calls, flowers, in person. Don't assume too much and don't judge. Then go back and read Rob and Lisa's expression of love to Stan and Betty.
I don't often respond to much, but come on...emotions can be so strong when someone has passed ...the love that Lulu and Al have for Betty is obvious. I don't know either of them personally but I can read between the lines of nothing but love. Please be forgiving and see that at times we can be overcome with emotion. No disrespect meant just some "overstanding". My heart goes out to all those who love her and those of us not fortunate enough to have gotten to know her. One of our boardies is gone to a better place with no pain and only the fond memories of joy....which I have no doubt...Jamaica is one. One love......
i know al and lula and i assure u they have nothing but love for stan and betty...one love...
Yes, when I see Headlines like: Once again I need to inform you, & The silence is defining& With a heavy heart, all of which I was expecting a tribute to Betty, I missed the one liner, for all that have ever been to the yearly bash: you know we were with Stan and Betty at most parties, go on youtube and see Stan sing to Lulu and I, I'm crying!
Sorry Dash, but you are off base man. Rob, Lisa, and Seastar are all capable of defending themselves. Your assumption of what one might have done is no better than the assumption that nothing was done.
A lot of folks are hurting right now, no need to socialize anymore drama on this site or any other. Betty was a gentle soul and to see bickering in regards to her passing is really sad.
I never questioned their sincerity. I questioned their criticism of others at this sad time. I apologize if it came off harsh.
Grief is a very personal thing. I didn't know Betty well but when I met She and Stan the love they shared was so true and amazing. I don't know all of the inside info of the Nigril boardies, but I sort of think they are a family with ups and downs like most other families. And I hope the focus is on Stan and Betty and the love they had for one another, not how any given person deals with grief. <3
I am devastated to lern of Betty's death. I thought that there would be nother thread should this happen.
My most sincere regrets are set to Stan and their family.
We will defiitely miss her wonderful presence with us in Negril. My prayers are with you Stan.
