Towards the end of the week I had a chance to paddle board near Rutland Point.

Back out on a kayak later in the day as the rain approached. So sad seeing the old Point Village Resort looking like this. My daughter used to love staying here. We came back three summers in a row last time in 2006. I believe this was called the Sunshine grill? (Actually the Sundrenched Bar & Grill. Thanks Patricia!)

Ah the pictures of PV make me sad. My brother was married there in 2004 and we returned twice more after that. Lots of laughs and memories there for me.
The outside looks kind of dumpy, but I was in one of the apartments in 2013. It was pretty nice.
We met Shane at Zimbali. He sat next to us with his family during our five course dining adventure and was so much fun to spend time with. After dinner, he finally told us he was the chef at Spa Retreat and invited us to dinner at the Retreat the next night and promised to surpass the food we had at Zimbali. We didn't think that was possible, but we took him up on his offer. He made for us each a shrimp pot with lobster tail on top, and we were blown away! What a wonderful guy and great chef!!
