My wife and I were just talking about this!
For me, it's that first afternoon, after we've checked in, dropped off our stuff, done all of our settling in, grabbed a couple drinks and get to watch that first sunset.
Whether we're sitting on a beach chair, walking on the sand or sitting at a bar, we have to stop and take in the setting sun while the weather is perfect, and it really sets in that I'm on vacation in Negril.
Can't to experience it again in 4 1/2 months!
My first sunset relaxer cocktail at the Catcha' bar.
For us, it's when we get through customs and exit out into the Jamaican heat with the hustle and bustle going on all around us. We search through the masses, with everyone saying "I'm Patrick!" until we see our driver Patrick Clarke and my wife gets her "Welcome to Jamaica hug". After that, everything is Irie.
WOW I love this thread!! Reading everyone's AHHH moments really hits home in my heart. Mine is first pushing that button to confirm reservations and than walking out of the airport and letting that warm beautiful air hit me in the face and I close my eyes and like magic all my troubles seem so far away, yes Thank you Jah!!!

Yes, and that's my hubby in the background coming back from his "ahhh moment". Not only is this our 1st roadside food stop but also 1st bathroom stop after quite a few Red Stripes. :)Quote:

i have a few "ahhhh" moments but the 1st is definitely when i come back to this board to check in after some time off and know that this always leads to me booking my next reach :)
When I can see it island from my window seat........... I know I'm back home and will not leave for at least a month.
