Along with ackee & saltfish, jerk chicken, rice & peas, curry goat, calalloo...bun & cheese is right up there in the traditional Jamaican diet. You can't have Easter without bun & cheese either. :)

Very nice photos!
I woke up and went swimming in the clear Caribbean Waters and felt blessed that I am fortunate enough to spend this day in paradise. We bought some more fruit and soaked up the rays.https://youtu.be/z067H1qv0TM
Mr T was coming over for a late breakfast. I prepared some veggie omelettes (still say eggs taste SO much better in JA than US) with toast and the fruit we purchased. We booked another massage for the following day. DH wanted to switch up our massage therapists so I agreed to have a massage with Sandra instead of Anika. That's true love.
We all went swimming for a bit more after breakfast. Mr. T & I both got stung again by jellyfish. No fun.
Mr. T gave me a birthday gift and card. He carved a bookend with my name. A little something I will treasure. It is now on my desk at work so I always remember that awesome day. Attachment 48231
After swimming, I needed a Patty fix. We rolled into town and got Patties from Juici's and Hammonds. I wanted to do a taste test. My expert conclusion is Hammonds wins the beef category and Juici wins the chicken. I thought Hammonds chicken had too much curry flavor. I bought our driver lunch. He asked for beef patties from Hammonds so that proves my expert judgement:)
great report...nice to meet you
We headed back home and played some music on the beach and waited for sunset.

Mr. T had 5 dogs. He said that someone that owns goats in the area he lives in on the West End put poison out to kill all the dogs that came around his property because the dogs were eating the goats. He had to bury 4 of his dogs, one of them lived. They were all just puppies when I was in Negril 2 years ago. Very sad. He knows of about 20 dogs that died from the poison. Crazy!!!
I decided to get one more sunset in on the hammock! Attachment 48270
We think we determined that Swordfish was not open. I was bummed out because that is the one place I wanted to dine in Negril and was hoping to hit it on my Birthday. We decided to head to Kenny's Italian Cafe. I dig the atmosphere in that place. Back to my foodie report. I ordered Coconut shrimp for an appetizer and shrimp Alfredo for dinner. Mr. T and DH shared a pizza and some salad. The pasta and shrimp were great. I liked the food better than when I was there last year. Service was strange, we had our food before we ever got our drinks. Attachment 48271Attachment 48272Attachment 48305
We headed to Roots to check out some tunes. The music was great. The majority of the band played with every artist/singer. I am positive the drummer was up there for every song, for like 3-4 hours. He was amazing and definitely had stamina. This was the best music I heard in Negril this trip.Attachment 48307
Here's a little sample of the music/bonfire atmosphere. https://youtu.be/wx6_rP7RYcA
I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Roy and his wife Sherri (think I got that spelling right) and Groove, who was definitely getting his groove on:) I think this is a picture of Roy?Attachment 48309
They invited us to go to Half Moon Bay the following morning, I think. After self examining my current level of intoxicity (is that even a word?), I knew that there was no way I would make it. I was wondering how they were going to do that trip! Pretty sure we were all on the same level. It sounded like it would be a blast though. We stayed until the end of the show. The music was amazing and I couldn't pull myself away. We walked back to our room around 1 or 2 am and called it a night.
! 0r 2 is about the time we always all headed back to Rondel to meet at the table by the pool and have a couple toddies and laughs(and sometimes chat with security as they tried to quiet us down),great times!!
You write a great trip report, Thanks for sharing!
We were all there that night, Wednedsday right, how did we miss you, we were dancing pretty much all night, and this was after our Catamarran ride, I can't believe everyone
was still going strong after that ride !!!
just a side note, I enjoyed the music at Roots Bamboo, and Woodstock more than Bourbon Beach this time, Bourbon is going downhill ....IMO..
Day 5. Last full day. Ugghhh. We packed it full. We Woke up and I walked around Nirvana admiring the flowers. We decided to stroll down the beach in search of breakfast.. I was almost out of cash. This happens on every trip. But who cares. Look where I am! We came upon Idle awhile. I asked if they accept CC. Yay! They did.

We checked out the menu and decided on some smoked marlin eggs benedict with callaloo and coconut pancakes with ginger pineapple syrup. Little Sweet, Little Savory. Just what breakfast should be IMO. Attachment 48323Attachment 48324Attachment 48325
I've never had smoked marlin, or any marlin for that matter. Our driver told us that his dad was a fisherman and Marlins are huge and can cause serous injury when you catch them from their spikes. He said one of the fish punctured his dads friend in his stomach after they caught it and he died from the injuries. Our driver said that is when he stopped fishing himself.
Hey Never2many, Thanks for the report.
Nice photos too. :-)
That pic with the trees and their shadow, wow !
we also liked the music at roots and woodstock alot better than bourbon this trip.....
We had an after breakfast swim and hung out on our porch and waited for Anika and Sandra. Here's a little video from our stoop.

We both had another massage on the beach. This time I got Sandra and DH had Anika. I got robbed and DH definitely had the better end of the deal. If I ever need a massage again, I hope to find Anika. She is AMAZING. This time there were considerably more guest at Nirvana than the first few days. Everybody was on the massage wagon. After our 1 hr massages, people were lining up . This trip was the first time I experienced a massage on the beach and I hope to come back for more.
Mr. T arrived and we decided to head to the West End. That was a nice thought but didn't work out to well. There was some sort of police inspection set up and no drivers wanted to go that way. We finally found a driver and he ended up sketching up some road when he got wind of the police so we got out of the car on some side road and he told us we didn't have to pay. We walked down the road and around the police set up thing and then caught a ride to Xtabi. Always wanted to check it out.

Thanks so much for your trip report, and your great pics, I know sometimes it is a labor of love, but so many people appreciate it. I LOVE your name , never to many , as many of my friends say jojo, haven't you had enough, and I say it is never to many , next year for sure !!!! :)
The electricity went out while we were Xtabi. I was hot and hungry so we didn't hang out long. I had in my head a mission of going to 3 dives. Been dying to try their chicken.
I had just got some cash in town and overpaid the bartender big time in error. When we were leaving, the bartender came out and said " As a Jamaican, I certainly appreciate a nice tip but....!" I was grateful for his honesty and more than impressed. I would have rolled out of there and eventually wondered where all my money went.
Please continue - where did you end up eating?
We wondered down to 3 dives. I am starving at this point. 3 dives & arriving starving= not such a good combination. Beyond Island time slow. We ordered 3 plates of jerk chicken with the fixin's and some skewers and 3 or 4 rounds of beers, waiting for our food. I loved the atmosphere here and decided, based on the wait time, this is going to be the place I see the last Negril sunset this trip.

We waited and waited some more. They had really cold beers that were served out of a freezer chest.

Waiting patiently for more,if we can't be in Negril we want to at least think we are!!Thanks for sharing all the great photo's and your fine trip report!
We finally saw, what we thought was our food come up to the window. And then this happened. A taxi driver had brought a group of 4 or 5 people (about 1/2 hour after we arrived). He snatched up the food and delivered it to the group and they too, who were waiting for almost 2 hours by this point, were starving and started inhaling it. The girl working at 3 Dives came out and started hollering at the driver- he indeed had delivered our food to them. It was a pretty entertaining moment.
Time to order another round.
Great trip report and great pics.....I have been reading fro the beginning.....
