Think of what you planned to pack ................. take half the planned clothes and but twice the planned money
Loving the tips folks. Keep them coming. Thanks for starting this thread Brasi.
go to sleep. Don't stay up all night before you go packing at the last minute. And DO NOT DRINK A LOT night before departure. I have done that, actually an evil combo of staying up and drinking and I can just say I suffered. I was ok once I was there, Jamaica seems to ease all ails, but the trip, misery!
If staying on the cliffs.....water shoes...you can pick them up at walmart or kmart or the likes for less than $10 and they will save your feet when climbing back up those ladders along the cliffs!
Ha ha me too, the last couple trips I have come home with the same $1's I took down - they should earn interest for travelling with me!
I don't find small Ja bills hard to come by - but do I keep track of them to make sure I always have some -
* at stores I usually pay with $1000, even if its a small purchase, to get the change.
* at the ATM, I withdraw $xx,900.00, as the 900 comes as 1) 500 + 4) 100's. My bank does not charge fees (and I avoid Scotia because of their $3 fee - plus you can only withdraw $15k jmd there) so I can split my withdrawal into a couple transactions, each with the 900 change coming to me. (thank you Nurse Marcia for this tip!)
I also always pay with $1000 bills when I make purchases at the stores....most grocery stores (at least the bigger ones) always start the day with plenty of change, so hold onto your $100s & $500s for when purchasing at the little shops that have no change!
@ Sandy...no Problem mon!
@rastagal...our trips soon come!
@ALL....post more tips!

Fresh aloe works best for sunBURN, not as a "protection" from the sun as many beach vendors say. It takes any pain away almost immediately!
Wow, the only one I can add is a piece of clothes line and pins in a ziploc. It makes packing 1/2 the clothes more realistic. I also take along an old 6 cup perk coffee pot. The ones with a metal basket. It makes the best bluemountain brew in the mornings.
I am amazed at the effort and thought some of you guys put into packing! I am so unorganized I don't even break out the suitcase until the night before.
The one thing I would recommend bringing is some type of anti frizz hair product! Maybe not so much for you men...unless you have long or curly hair, but my hair is super curly and the humidity gives my hair a "just stuck your finger in a light socket" type of look. :eek:
