We really liked Rondell the time we stayed there but in the last few years it seemed that there is not much beach outside of their wall - looks a bit crowded there

Country Country Cottage 515 is steps from the beach and we did not have any problems with Margaritaville noise...Loved it, and already planning the next trip..enjoy!!!

Thanks to all for the responses. Scouring through all of the recommendations now that I'm home from work. Stopped and picked up some Red Stripe to help get in the right frame of mind. I will let you guys know when and where I end up booking..

Your statement about the rule of no beers or food brought onto the property is totally wrong. I am a spokesman for teh Tree House and the owner does not have any such rule. IF you are not staying there of course you can not bring beer onto their beach and use their chairs. this is only common sense. If you are a guest, many rooms have refridgerators and small kitchens. Of course you can buy beer outside and food. Your option. If you come to a bar to socialize anywhere you would not bring your own drinnks. Common sense again. I hope this clears up this matter. I have vacationed there for over 20 years and always see guests bringing alcohol to their rooms at check-in. Thanks

Say what u will, but we were definitely told no outside food Anne drinks, and asked to removevthe cooler from the beach.. we didn't, and we shared, and they didn't push it. But the absolutely do have the rule.. as much as it ilmight nit be enforced..

I spent an afternoon at Treehouse, mostly at the beach restaurant/bar, and here are my impressions:
The staff do seem very nice. It was a busy place. Not just with guests but with a lot of beach traffic RIGHT on the break of the water, as the either the beach had eroded or it was very high tide .... The pizza on this visit was not as good as I had hoped -- two months earlier, I had a slice or two with friends and it was great -- and it took a while to get my food (45 minutes or so, par for the course in Negril) ... I did have a quick sneak into the pool, and it was NICE ... Jacuzzi not hot enough.
I did visit a second time later in the week, but if I recall it was merely to dodge a higgler!
Overall, it's a nice place. I know Negriloholic likes it, and her taste is impeccable.

I've been a Cliff Dweller for almost 30 years. The first Hotel this old Hippie got off the bus in Negril was Treehouse. The bus stoped with everyone going to treehouse and the only two left, me and my wife going to the west end. Greeted warmly and given a nice rum drink and welcomed with open arms, given a tour of the property told to relax and when we were ready the driver would take us to the west end.. We felt bad because we were going to the West End to stay at the Rock Cliff Hotel . I loved the cliffs and wanted to stay there but my wife was really taken in with Treehouse. We were told they would love for us to come back to Treehouse any time and hangout on the beach. Which we did and have been doing for 30 years ,time on the cliffs time on the beach.. Just the other day there was a thread about who had the longest employees and I believe it is Treehouse. Rob our fearless negril.com leader also said he was greeted warmly when he first came to Negril in 1985 at Treehouse, and they are great people.. Gail and her staff run a lovely hotel I don't think you will be dissapointed. Great buffet breakfast, great pool bar, pool, beach, rooms, vibe. But im kinda bias when it comes to Negril and never complain or have anything bad to say about anything in Negril.

a lot of expats hang at Treehouse during the day to use their beach and have some drinks at the bar der........
mi never seen it as busy as it was last week when mi peaked in at Treehouse........
mi would luv to stay there someday..........plus being guest friendly gets a big thumbs up in mi book.........
the breakfast buffet is a big draw there too..........
one of the best dinner buffets in Negril was on Monday nights der....wondering if dem still have dat?
SeaStar and Bella Donna are the only two places that mi know of that have a buffet open to the public...........

I'm going to Negril for the 1st time in a couple of weeks, staying at Country Country, room 514, the upper, right behind the restaurant. So excited to read all the great comments here!
Do they have an actual coffee pot to brew coffee in each cottage, or just a "kettle"? Are they ok with us taking a cooler on the beach (our own drinks)?
Marko - there is a buffet at Shereta's open to the public on Thursday nights with a live show (I checked via email & reserved) but it's $25 pp & there have been comments that the food at this buffet isn't very good - at least not worth the $. I'm seriously thinking we'll go to the Canoe Bar on Thursday instead.
Comments/suggestions?

It's just a kettle. There is a mini fridge so they expect you to stock. You should have no problem taking a cooler out with you. How did you find out which room your getting? Have a great time. CC is a gem!
