i like the pizza at italian cafe- if you ask them to double the dough, it's perfect.

Day 3:
I didnt wake up to see the sunrise.. in fact i didn't even get up until 9:30ish..
but i did get my first real breakfast

Mackerel and calaloo with fried dumplings from sweet spot...yum!
I got it to go, came back to my room ate, sat on the verandah for a while then headed to the beach (alfreds) around 11..to actually swim.

it was dead and the sun wasn't really shining so i sat back and enjoyed the view..and 2 apple vodka and tings...

since vinny and ronnie still hadnt come i went my daily walk down the beach.. up past margaritaville and back..
when i got back to alfreds ronnie was there, i ordered another apple vodka and ting and a red stripe.. then ron disappeared so i went for a quick dip then back to my room.. it looked like it was going to rain

im not sure if it did rain.. i came back to my room showered and took a nap.. only to be woken a half an hour later by my noisy new neighbors.. so i just sat in my bed and emailed friends and what not... finally i emerged around 4 and they apologized for being so loud and i went off to alfreds once again.. when i got there vinny and another rasta guy were there so we smoked a few... drank a few and i went on a quest to find the perfect spot to watch the sunset..

I returned to my room once again.. then went on a hunt for dinner.. while walking i ran into ron who told me about some facebook party at chances.. i remebered that they had one this time last year.. i told him i'd consider it and continued down the road.. thats when i saw montana's cafe and i decided to have dinner there..i had curry chicken...it was very good almost as good as my grandmothers..unfortunately i left my camera so i couldnt take and pictures.. but it was good... i also had a dirty banana.. i don't like dirty bananas..it tasted fine i didnt like the texture of it... it was like pancake batter..i also dont really like bananas after banana bread being a staple of my diet for 2 months straight..
anyways i walked back to my room. pauly stopped by and we chatted and smoked and what not...he left.. i went to sleep.. i dont know if its the sun..but im soo tired by 11.. i need to snap out of it.
Well get some sleep girl because I will be there the day after tomorrow!!!
So close that I can taste it!!!

Day 4:
Today the beach was alive!
i woke up around 8 and went to Sweet Spot for another wonderful breakfast.

i came back to my room because i knew it was still too early to head up to alfred's.. Vinny and ron don't usually get there until after 12 after a night of partying.. so i just relaxed on the verandah and updated my trip report.. around 11:30ish vinny called me asking if i was going to alfreds.. i said yes and he told me he was going to shower and then head over to alfreds..
so i got up put on my bathing suit sprayed sunblock (which isn't working for me) all over, and then walked along the beach to alfreds. when i got there vinny still wasn't there.. so i ordered an apple vodka and ting.. another rasta guy that knows him was there so i sat on one of the beach chairs and chatted with him..

The sun was burning hot so i went for a swim.. the water felt nice.. not too cold.. just right

When i got out i went to order a rum punch... and trust me when i say Alfred's has the strongest rum punch..i only had one and i was niiiiice..
Vinny did eventually come with his woman friend in tow.. he gave me a few and we smoked one then he went in the water to tend to his lady friend... i chilled for a while then went back in..
ron came so i went to say hello to him and ordered a red stripe.. then he had to run off to margaritaville for spring break stuff ... so i ordered some lunch..

after eating i went back to my room.. i don't really remember much after that..
Around 5:30 .. i went back to alfreds to watch the sunset and find out what was going on tonight..
i ordered a passion fruit vodka and ting and enjoyed the view.. and a game of volleyball

i came back to my room took a nap... then went to Beach park.. i didn't like it too much so i left..
Wow, you really know how to party it up. Not too many boardies hang at Alfreds during the day, and it looks like a nice place to chill. 31 and 55? No wonder the poor guys needs a smoke break -- that's high maintenance! Carry on!!!
Tommorrow is the day! I will be mostly scrounging around the beach, in the daylight hours, most likely with the usual stops of Seasplash, Wild Parrot, Sunbeach, and some days down as far as Sunnyside or Alfred,s. Will keep an eye out see if I spot you around.
Your father is one of the best men on the island!

its an easy stroll... i walk from alfreds up to beaches and back no problems.. and this is coming from someone who doesn't even like to walk to the mailbox.. it goes by quick... before you even realize it your at margaritaville.Quote:

Day 5:
Today was a grey day in negril..
i got a late start and skipped breakfast and went to just chilled on the verandah and updated my trip report talk to my mom all that fun stuff..
I spent a couple of hours trying to get in touch with Barry G because i wanted to go up to blue hole, but his phone doesn't work too well so i had no luck.. neither did my mom.
so around 11 i head over to Alfred's.. to my surprise Vinny and Ronnie were already there.. I said my hellos and vinny introduced me to his lady friend.. then he informed me that him and ron were just about to head out... so i went to sit by the stage and smoked one... thats when i noticed the sun wasn't shining and the sea was really choppy and rough..

so i went for a walk.. down half-way through beaches and back..

on one side of the beach it was bright and sunnny... but walking towards alfred's there was a big dark cloud overhead... it was going to start pouring soon..

i feel like i somehow caused this rain.. the day before while swimming at alfreds i was talking to another vacationer about how the bottom the the sea has leveled off since i was last there (before it was shallow in the front.. deep in the middle.. and shallow in the back.. and then it only got deeper) and stated that maybe its because negril is long over due for a good storm..
anyways on the walk back i didn't bother stop at alfred's again, i did however run into the little italian man that also hangs out at alfreds and he told me i better com back the next day..haha..
i didnt want to get caught in the rain, so i went back to my room..
however when i got back they were cleaning my room so i walked around and took some pictures of the gardens..

when i got back to my room i found a gift on the table outside..i wont post a picture, because i don't want to offend anyone, but it was a good one
as the rain began to fall i sat outside and enjoyed my gift along with the sound of the falling rain

it was a quick afternoon shower.. it stopped raining around 2... so i used this time to go grab something to eat.. i was hungry.. i hadn't eaten since lunch at alfred the day before..
i walked over to Cafe Goa and had a red stripe and chicken quesadillas

i got back to my room just it time, it started raining again so i opened my windows and door, and took a nap.. around 4:30 my new neighbors arrived.. three guys here for spring break... judging from the questions the asked me (carrying cups of alcohol while walking and smoking), they were first timers. I woke up to them talking loudly with the security about ganj and what not i just laid in bed and listened to the rain fall and their conversation.. around 6 the rain finally stopped and i went to sweet spot to grab some food, i wasn't quite hungry but i knew i would be later.

Monday nights are boring.. i just lounged around my room.. around 10 vinny stopped by and we smoked 3 or 4 and talked about parties, ATI and beyond.. he left around midnight and i went to sleep

Thanks Breana for the info....we will be staying at the GP next to Alfreds and plan on meeting some friends one day at Margaritaville...didn't know if it would be too much to walk it, or grab a cab:)

That's the one thing I don't like about HP...if the next room isn't booked by someone you know you can get some pretty crappy neighbors, and since you have to share a porch and you can hear EVERYTHING through the slats in the windows it can suck. I was stuck next to some 15 year old Italian kids who did nothing but sit on the porch and listen to weird techno trance music all day and night....woohoo!
Im staying at hidden paradise...its a nice property.. great nightly rate (76 peak seaon and 55 off season) and all rooms have a/c, mini fridges and tvs. the property also has a poolQuote:

Can you just abbreviate names or something? I'm really enjoying your report, but of course it's whatever you are comfortable with.
You can do as Gerry does make sure you ask about being in the report (disclaimer) before posting!
My opinion is if you were there and they were there, and you want to write it down, who are you harming?
Do what you think is right, Breanna. I think you nailed it on the head when you mentioned discretion. Thinking about the effects of your actions is a good thing. Considering the view points of others is not "young and dumb" but incredibly mature. I had the pleasure of reading all your posts before they were pulled and you seem to move in a circle of family and friends of family and friends you've made who live there. There is a lot more involved in writing about close or continuing relationships than just a trip report. That doesn't mean there aren't ways to write about it if you want to. Best of luck and I hope the blowback isn't too bad.

Breanna, I can say from experience that I think you are making a good decision to consider the issue. You are far from 'young and dumb' IMHO.
Plain and simply put, there are people who prefer not to have their image posted on a public site, or who choose not to be associated with certain actions or behaviors...OR risk the potential "blowback" on return trips from certain individuals who live on the Rock...and who certainly read this message board...
The right to privacy is legally supported. Unless you are, of course, a public figure or elected official, these rights are enforcable through the courts. I for one don't take a person's privacy lightly.
Those that don't write Trip Reports can talk all they want about growing up. If their image--or reputation--was impacted they may feel differently. Especially if it could impact their safety.
That said, i really hope you consider writing your reports with real names redacted. I was enjoying the way you roll...it was an experienced Trip Report and I was learning a lot about the beach and Hidden Paradise.
I don't blame ya if you don't...and either way have a great trip.
