wow .... that is HUGE news .... I just toured the property on way out of Negril w Clives pickup -- very five-star-ish .....
Yah, I can't believe I got lucky with SATP, and was able to get it switched from the former reservation at Grand Pineapple since they will be closed. I just feel bad for travelers that aren't going to find out until probably right when their plane lands that they have been moved to another Sandals property..I'm so glad I don't have to go to any Sandals resort at all, because the way I feel, I'm more than done with them, lol!

Yah, I feel in love with Negril at first sight, lol, so for me the name fits, and I plan on moving there next year, or at the very least spending the maximum 180days allowed without being approved for permanent residency, which, depending upon how things go when I get there, I will be applying for.
Travellers Beach Resort is near the river and easy walking distance to downtown Negril, and is Jamaican owned and they are very supportive of and helpful to the local community as well. I have spent many a day hanging out there when I wasn't staying there, and am looking forward to my stay.
That is another reason I'm relieved that I don't have to depend upon Sandals to switch me to another resort of their choosing now that they are closing Grand Pineapple down, what if they shipped me to Ocho Rios or Montego Bay and then I had to try and find a way to Negril for my next two weeks at Travellers after that? As it is, now I don't have to worry about more than taking a short taxi ride when my stay at Sunset At The Palms with my friend is done. :)
And I just know you will love Negril, it is my favorite place on earth! :)
getting closer and closer 17 days till I arrive in mbay. I have been geeked out reading threads on this board as well as a few others for the last week trying to prepare for the trip on what to do and not to, what to bring with me, ect.... I think I am now more excited then ever to get this much needed vacation started.
I can't believe I am actually posting this...I almost feel guilty since I just got home from Negril Friday. August 11th -16th and I have no clue where I'm staying yet...somewhere with AC that's for sure. I learned my lesson...won't do JA in the summer without AC again...too freaking HOT!

OK as of right now I am officially on the list for aug 2nd until the 12th! Even have a room for the first 5 nights! So it will be myself 16 year old son and old friend.

woohoo time is going by Aug will be here next week and I can not hardly wait. I have about 4 hrs left of work to do then my wife and I start our vacation. Leave the house monday headed to DC then its on the Negril first thing Tues morning.
Aug 19-27, staying at Rayon, can't wait................

I've now pushed my arrival back to 8/8. I just couldn't stand the thought of 5 days...then I got the notice in the mail that my kids "meet the teacher night" would be the days I was to return...so I am leaving 3 days earlier and coming back 1 day earlier which will give me a full week! I had to do the extra 3 days EXTRA budget but it will be worth it. I'm getting so excited!
Less than a week ATI here we come! OK so will next sunday when the 100 meter mens at the olympics is on, will be crazy or what?
if the Bolt strikes again I am sure there will be some Partying going on. Love the Olympics. Kinda the only negative part about me going to JA right now is missing so much of the Olympics but o well I am sure once im there ill be like Olympics what?
Hey guys, my first time posting but I've been lurking ever since I booked our tickets. My husband and I will be in Negril on 8/25 for 10 days. Looking forward to meeting everyone. We will be at point village and rockhouse but plan to go to all the locals I've heard about on the board.
