Today .... RIGHT THIS MINUTE .... What's the thing you miss most about Negril?

Right now nothing in particular. Just called the yard and everything's fine. Mommy just got back and her roof looks great.

I might go down for a weekend sometime in August.

Everything is just good...

Barefoot walking on the beach mid morning, shirt off in one hand and by my side is my wonderful wife. Sun is hot and the ocean is so blue,green that your eyes are near visionary overload with beauty. The ear to the water is engrossed in the lapping sounds of the gentle waves. The ear to the beach hears laughter, patois, and reggae tunes in the distance. Smells are food cooking, light fragrance of ganj.

At this point no words are necessary between Badnaz and I, just to reach out and touch her and know that she completely gets whats happening to us at that moment. And finally truly believing at that moment the slower that we walk down the beach we might be able to freeze time and make this feeling last forever.

I had a great conversation with a young man outside of the Wies...(something sp) convenience store up on the west end. He was telling me about how his sister had to move back to Jamaica because here bones hurt in the cold of the U.S. I agree! My bones were so warm in Negril. I could feel it to the marrow. So nice. So warm. So perfect. Plus he said that staying at Xtabi was the German end of the West End. He wanted us to come up to the party end, the "Best end of the West End."

Riding my bicycle from Westender Inn,each morning, to town and stopping along the way to get the latest news.

The serenity,the simpleness of life.......I went on a snorkel trip in Negril,it was like,here is where you jump in and swim & snorkel,have fun........

I went on a snorkel trip in Key West and I had to watch a 20 minute video,told me I could not lie on the net between the hulls,made me sign a waiver etc.....So controling and bureaucratic and regimented.....

Kinda like Jambarney said...sensory overload of everything GOOD! Sounds(music,language sounds of the animals at night), taste(fruit, chicken & mixed drinks), smells(food,ganja and the ocean) and the visuals(my personla fav, the beautiful people, the colors of the houses and signs, the animals, color of the water, & the flora and fauna). It all comes together in JA.

I miss being at Eddie's...

A lot of my customers when they leave Negril reports that they are going through Negril withdrawal.

Thanks Tizzy. I use this one as my screen saver at work, and I stare at it quite often. Thats where I got the name daydreamer - seemed fitting since I'm always dreaming of negril!
