The German bar is at Mary's bay (former easy rock location )Pizza for super cheap brick oven style medium$550 J large$ 950 J.Bratwurst great.Alot of good food for a little money.

Carbonara at the Canoe is crazy good along with anything else there.
We really enjoyed the food at Chill Awhile (Idle Awhile) this year. On Friday nights they have live music. Also like Canoe and loved the guy on his grill across from Pee Wees.
Hahahaha Marley I'm stone cold sober and I thought it said "E99". Maybe after a few I'll be able to read it. I think our first night will be dinner at 3 Dives.

We ate at Sunset 4 nights this stay.The food is amazing and very reasonable.Patrick is consistent in his quality.

Sunset is the up & comer on the West end Road and there is so much he does great - Big plate of food - Nice spot right by the Sea - Brandy Snapper is on everyones list this year and he has the 1 Pound Burger (freshly ground) to challenge you and I swear by his Red Strip batter dipped fish & chips. No one goes home hu

Creasemon you got me hooked.I loved the conch fingers the most tender conch I ever ate.Big up on the brandy snapper or his sweet thai chili chicken.
Bentleys Crab Shack is not to be missed. Everything custom cooked to order. Call ahead 24 hours.

all my requirements......but I really need to get out more & try more places but I love my favorites
We've eaten at most of the places mentioned above...all great. The two places I wouldn't miss on any trip to Negril are Chicken Lavish and Red Dragon. Luckily one (CL) if more of a dinner place, while the other (RD) is more of a lunch place (althougth CL does serve lunch). We hit both of these places at least twice during a one-week stay and if you do the same you will not be sorry. Chicken Lavish has great curry goat, the best sweet and sour chicken you've ever had and fried chicken that would make the Colonel blush (and I am originally from Kentucky!!!). Don't forget to start your meal with the Conch Soup.....if I am ever on my death bed in Jamaica, this is what I am requesting to get me back to health. Red Dragon is the jerk pork capital of the world, and is literally one of the ten reasons I visit Negril at least twice per year.
The great thing about both of these places is not only the food, but the vibe (I hate that word, but it fits here). Doc at CL will make you feel welcome and its great discussing Jamaican politics, business in Negril and life lessons with him. You will leave there more enlightened about life in Jamaica than you were when you arrived. The guys at Red Dragon are just as great, sitting there drinking the world's coldest beer, eating pork and watching the comings and goings is an experience you don't want to miss.
In addition to the great food and vibe, your wallet will be heavier after leaving both of these places than if you would have eaten somewhere else, they are both great value for the money.....

Iam gonna try alot of new stuff when I visit.. Tho iam not usually like that.. Kinda a picky eater but iam just gonna go for it.. Can someone tell me what conch is like?? Maybe goat?? My lady won't try the goat but I hear good things.. Ohh and what about ox tails??
That's funny about your cl impression for a dinner place... I have only ever done lunch there, and loved it. The owner is fantastic, but super opinionated. I will have to give them a go for dinner when we go in a few months.
You do know conch is seafood, right? So it's not like beef or chicken. If anything it would be more like a cross between oyster and lobster, and Goat is great as long as its not fatty. It's just meat...doesn't taste weird or anything. Enjoy the taste adventure.
haha yeah i know its seafood.. they come in those big crazy shells right?? so they texture isnt like calamari?
Have only done lunch at Chicken Lavish as well but will stop there at least once while I'm in Negril.
conch is sweeter than calamari and it all depends on how it is cooked...much like calamari. go with the recommendations on where to eat it and give it a try. it isn't "fishy" and IMO, delish!
Where is Sunset After Dark located??
Sunset is on West end Road about 5 mins walk from the Hi/Lo up the hill past the all Ages School on the left directly across the street from (Kirlews) Negril Hardware & Haberdashery - Check the view back to the beach & Hills.!!

Beth Ann and I are picky eaters. I don't do most veggies and she doesn't want to add any new animals to her her diet (i.e. goat). However, I found that when we were there I ate and enjoyed foods that I wouldn't normally touch. We intend to sample a lot more and different food this trip. haha yeah kevin i dont like much veggies either.. i.e. onion, tomatoe, celery.. lol .. but there are plenty i love, okra, broccoli, spinach, squash.. yeah iam strange but its all good.. thanks for the info guys.. looks like ill be trying some conch soup...ohh whaat about fried conch??
FYI I always thought Conch was more along the lines of Clams as far as texture and taste. Love it! Also the Escovitch Fish at Alfreds.
